Never see you guys over there using blades or vibes in winter. Here in Aus, they are our go-to lures for winter perch, absolute winter killers!

Hey! Would 3-15 gram 210cm rod from Barkley would be good for some perch and pike fishing in Ireland ?

Good stuff Ben, love the fact that you emphasize pike welfare. I have two nets on the go every session which makes life a lot easier as a solo piker. Crackin twenty by the way, top angling. I have two nets on the go

Brilliant video 👍, a species hunt, is tricky. Do you target the pike early and hope for that quick bite? Or do you try and get the finniky zeds to play ball, and will the perch even be found 😆 .. ahh, yes, the beautiful quandary that's fishing 💯 Some day's i swear they're down there just laughing at me and comparing leader diameters with their mates 😆

It's surprising how small those perch are taking the 7cm floating baits. Ive been afraid to use 7cm sized baits on the midlands canals because I thought they would be too big.

Great informative video as usual. I’m really struggling with lure fishing on the Trent and Mersey the Caldon and the Macclesfield. Do you think all canals contain a reasonable number of fish or do you think there are areas which are virtually void of fish.

Love watching your videos and you catch some absolutely cracking Fish. … you know your stuff and credit to you, buddy…. Just a quick one if it has been quite cool for awhile and then all of a sudden you get three or four days worth the temperature increases quite a lot in a coloured canal. What do you think would be the best lure that you could use in this situation.? Look forward to hopefully getting a reply and thank you for sharing your amazing videos. Top man 👍😎😁🎣

Thanks for watching, yes Nick has a lot of experience when it comes to canal fishing and loves to pass on his knowledge. A warmer spell can really fire up the perch so you can fish a shad quite fast and search out the likely spots. You can also use crankbaits like the Fox Rage Slick Stick or Salmo Hornet. Hard baits also allow you to quickly search the water and the hits are electric! Early mornings and late evenings can be a really good time for perch as we get into summer. We hope this helps 🙂🎣

My local canal,is very coloured throughout the year, due to busy boat traffic, tbh,I've done well on an array of colours, black, green pumpkin, lemon tiger, had a couple of small pike this evening on the 7cm slick Shad in lemon tiger, nothing on the dark creature baits, lost another fish after switching over to Pearl slick Shad... 🎣🎣🎣 Strangely enough, green pumpkin seems to out fish any of the others here. But carrying an array is a must agreed Nick.
