Good, quick overview. I have been waiting a bit before getting stuck into it but going by the amount of Divi 5 How To emails coming from ET recently, I presume they're gearing towards a launch sooner rather than later. On another channel, they showed a comment on a post somewhere from ET suggestong it could only be 2 to 3 months before the launch it 🤔. Does that seem likely to you?

@@divicoaching Right, that will be interesting. It seems that unless you're accredited html-css expert a lot of Divi is a black box to you if you're just some guy out there learning things through books and videos. Hi Michael. Yes I have! The problem I have currently is that I still have a day job and lots of videos I want to make. I have fleshed out a plan for a CSS deep dive series and would love to get this made. I have stopped making for a bit as there is not much point me making Divi4 tutorials but need 5 to be fully released to make the switch. Hopefully CSS will be a 2025 project when I am hoping to semi-retire and focus on teaching.

Instead of changing CSS in two different places, you can do it all in the first step by adding a third line: display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap: flex-direction: column-reverse; Just make sure you do these settings in the Tablet option, not Desktop or Mobile.

Thank you for at very easy to follow tutorial on hosting Google fonts in Divi.... I believe I carefully followed the instructions - but the font only shows when logged in - and in the visual builder, so maybe something wasn't right at all.. 😅. Any thoughts as to what went wrong?
@divicoaching4 ай бұрын
If it is showing correctly in the builder but not after logging out then possibly a caching issue. Does it work if you visit the page with an “incognito” or “private” browser session? If that displays ok then it’s a browser cache issue but if not then see if you have caching enabled on the server and if so clear this. Also in the builder go to divi settings and under builder click to clear the static cache.

The image being an Actual image module but have it full screen with text and button overlaid. This would be amazing for SEO value and design.
@divicoaching5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. I will certainly have a look at this as I have been thinking about making a tutorial about hero sections. It wouldn't be hard to do what you suggest with a single column row set to 100VH with an image module and everything else positioned using "absolute".

At the 22nd minute, you go to advanced and set it to relative. Then in row settings you set position on absolute and center. Why? You explain a bit but i am.a beginner and dont understand any of what is going on there. Why set to relative? Wgy set to absolute? What does this do? What problem does it solve?
@divicoaching5 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for your question. Positioning in CSS is quite a big subject but have a read here to understand better. www.w3schools.com/css/css_positioning.asp. I have used position absolute to make the menu sit on top of the background. Without this you would have the menu row sitting at the top as usual. I hope this makes sense. You can easily see what this is doing by omitting this step and seeing what happens.
@buildyear865 ай бұрын
Fearful, anxious, but above all: thankful for your video and message. I will try and see what happens! On another note. If one would like to set a member login/signup button to the right of these menu items, would it be adviseable to use a row with two columns instead of a row with only one column you did incthe video? The login/signup button wpuld then be added to the right column. Is that a legit way of going about adding a login/signup button in a header that has a menu in it? Learning! Thank you. Your videos are amazing, really.

my goodness this is so overwhelming....I'm using a "premium" theme (by zilom/gavias/themeforest/envato...why are there so many damn names on this theme?!) and the theme uses Tutor LMS. After importing the theme, I spent a lot of time getting antiquated with the theme and honestly WordPress in general...changing settings to understand what they did. Once I was comfortable, I wanted to make some customizations, and that's when I stumbled across people recommending child themes. Now there's tons of issues, mostly revolving around the user dashboard, (user accounts, profile settings, etc). I finally realized the issues would go away after setting the parent theme to active. Is it correct to assume the setting changes I made before creating the child theme are now causing issues? In other words, do you have to create the child theme straight way (before customizing things?

Do you have a link? I have put a sample here demo.divicoaching.com/4columns/ You need to make sure you have followed all the steps - set row to "equal column heights". In COLUMN (not row!) CSS you need display:flex; flex-direction:column; Set top/bottom padding on the column to the amount of space you want above your text and below your button. Set top margin of the button to "auto". That should do it.
