Brilliant TY. I like the way you focus one thing at a time. Some tutorials will show the issue I am looking to figure out but then they start styling the text and the theme and the ......... By the time they get back to the issue in question to show the results of the changes made, I am lost.

I just came across this video and was excited to see you implement this method very well. I was wondering if you might do an updated version of this tutorial on how to do this with say a hero section. The image being an Actual image module but have it full screen with text and button overlaid. This would be amazing for SEO value and design.
@divicoaching

Thank you for your feedback. I will certainly have a look at this as I have been thinking about making a tutorial about hero sections. It wouldn't be hard to do what you suggest with a single column row set to 100VH with an image module and everything else positioned using "absolute".

Thank you very much for that. Excellent explanation. As a beginner, I understand it very well. Is there a solution like this for a text module that also contains an h2 heading? Or do I have to use a separate module for the heading?
@divicoaching
@divicoaching 24 күн бұрын
I would go with a separate module. I prefer to keep headings and body separate in any case. Much easier to keep track of the layout. I am glad you found this useful!

Hello beautiful video congratulations!! Thank you so much!! I wanted to know if there is the possibility of making the image fill 100% of the column because in this way the column is filled by the image to about 85-90%.. Thank you so much again!
@divicoaching
@divicoaching Жыл бұрын
There is no reason not to fill the column 100%. Can you show me an example of where you say it is 85-90%? Maybe you have padding set, or maybe you need to remove the column gap.

Question: if I'm building my pages in sections, like templates for an intro, an H2 section (so a row and then text block[s]), and on down the page, how much is this additional CSS going to slow down the page load time?

Thanks Juan. I will have a look at this, but it's a bit beyond the scope of teaching people to use Divi. You would probably need to use a bit of JS.

The thing I dislike most about divi is when editing using the mobile and tablet tabs . All looks great as and when I am editing but as soon as I actually look on my iPhone 13 and on my tablet the site looks nothing like what I see when inside the divi visual builder. So frustrating, my hero section has headline and sub headline with a button in a column on the left. In the right column is a png image of me ( I know png is bad idea but hey ) I am editing this for tablet and mobile using smaller images for those devices and changing margins to allow the image to stay on the right side on those devices. While it’s working and looking great in in the visual builder, it’s not great in real life on those devices, such pain .

@divicoaching
@divicoaching 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. That's one option, but you should really be able to get things looking pretty good with the Divi settings. Not sure what units you are using but if you go with %s for margins and widths it shouldn't be too hard.

Hi , can I ask you a Wordpress question please . Just a lil bit of background. I have been building Wordpress sites for what seems like a long time now , for me, friends and family as well as a few small local businesses. All good and happy. This week I’m about to onboard a new client, well a friend of the family who has have her website built by another company, not cheap at all and does look very nice. She is paying a monthly fee for them to manage it £399 per month. Now for me that’s not to bad if she was getting regular content and regular updates and offsite seo work done, but she is not and doesn’t require any of that. So she has asked me if I could manage the site, no updates, well very very few and how much would I charge. Gave her the figure I had in mind and she was very happy with that. Btw she is a dentist. So going forward I needed to take a look in the backend to see how things were setup and how all the referrals system worked . I asked her to contact the devs and ask for admin access login credentials to her site . She did that and they replied with some login details. But when I logged in and went to the themes tab I noticed there was not a editor ? So have no access to any css files. Even if I go to the customiser it’s very limited, not fonts to change not colour access. Do you think the dev company has created a custom admin role ???
@divicoaching
@divicoaching 2 жыл бұрын
It's quite common to disable this in wp-config. Either ask for access and edit this (should be pretty obvious) or ask the devs to do it. Be careful though and back up.
@divicoaching
@divicoaching 2 жыл бұрын
Look for somthing like this towards the bottom of the file: /** Disable Editing Themes and Plugins Using Built-in Editor */ define ('DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', false);
@darndarn99
@darndarn99 2 жыл бұрын
I have edited the wp-config file by changing false to true but no joy. I think the devs have given them a custom admin 😒
@divicoaching
@divicoaching 2 жыл бұрын
Actually it should be 'false' I think - confusing as it is a double negative... But sounds like you have tried both! What error do you get when to try to edit?
@divicoaching
@divicoaching 2 жыл бұрын
@@darndarn99 if they have added a custom type this will be via "add_role()" function probably towards the end of functions.php in the child theme. Again take care if you are changing this and back up.
