Sad :( unfortunately that mall has declined considerably. I remember it being Kauffmans. It’s a huge loss to the area given sears is long gone. Not many stores like it exist anymore

There’s a list on CoStar and some will definitely close but there’s a few that would be a HUGE shocker if they did so…I’m weary of this so called list. But we’ll see as they get announced.

With this building looking pretty nice, I don’t expect it to go (and rather see an entertainment center take its place) even with the closure.

Chris I am sad to say this is the end of Town Center at Cobb because that’s how Gwinnett Place Mall died loosing both Belk and Sears years ago, I am more amazed Jcpenney’s is doing well there and as for Macy’s it will be fine for little while but idk how much longer! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Such a shame. There was something I did hear long ago that the mall was supposed to be redeveloped into a college but, I am not certain if those plans are still in the works. I do know the property owners want to redevelop the mall so this closure could be the start of that.

This store was built initially by Parisians, that's why it has the architecture it has.

Joann Fabrics, unlike Michaels and Hobby Lobby is one of the only stores that carries tons of fabric at affordable prices. That’s what distinguishes them from the other 2. They also carry a large amount of yarn. I’ve been going there for years and am devastated at the thought of them closing

Jo-Ann Fabrics was A FABRIC store. Hobby Lobby and Michael’s are more typical Arts and Crafts (Like AC Moore) Yes Jo-Ann evolved over time to be a little more arts and crafts but JAF was THE place to buy fabric. To make quilts, blankets, horrible fabric sheets to use as window covers if you were poor. To buy sewing machines and all your thread/needles etc. EVOLUTION destroyed them. You can buy that crap elsewhere. Walmart took some of it. Amazon took a little. Yeah Michael’s and HL took some but not all. But people aren’t doing as many Arts/crafts as they used to. And it’s a business. It’s simply no longer profitable 😣😢

The two Macy's stores both anchoring the Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights CA are also gonna close down by March. These two Macy's stores have an interesting history within the two buildings of their store operations. The one Macy's store operating as a Macy's Women's & Children's store was formerly Liberty House, a former Hawaiian department store chain that once had stores in the mainland USA. By 1984, Liberty House pulled out of the mainland USA and the store became Macy's Women's. The other Macy's store, operating as Macy's Men's Home & Furniture, was formerly a Weinstock's department store. In 1996, the Weinstock's store became a second Macy's store, originally as a Macy's Men's Children's & Home store. The original Macy's Men's Children's & Home store was once located at Birdcage Mall, a former open air shopping mall located across Sunrise Boulevard from the Sunrise Mall. Macy's had its most original store there since its opening in 1976, before 1984 when its women's departments were moved to the former Liberty House store at the Sunrise Mall. By 1996, Macy's moved its remaining store operations to the former Weinstock's store at Sunrise Mall. The former Macy's store at the former Birdcage Mall was demolished and replaced by a Target store by 1998. Possibly around 2007, Macy's moved its children's departments from the former Weinstock's building to the ex-Liberty House Macy's store, adding furniture departments to the ex-Weinstock's Macy's store. Now, the two Macy's stores in Citrus Heights at Sunrise Mall are on the chopping block of this year's round of store closures.

Chris your absolutely Big Lots is nothing but junk, I haven’t went back to the store closings in my area for that particular reason! 😅 And I am sure you got permission to film in the store I hope because I know you can get busted in some places feel sorry for those elevator enthusiasts all the time because people don’t understand it’s a hobby to them and they see it as you are violating and trespassing instead! 🤷🏻‍♂️

It sounds like the recent bankruptcy was poorly handled, though I don't know exactly who was responsible.

Not shocking Chris plus even though I am a guy like you, I always loved Hobby Lobby out of all 3 chains, because it sells more than arts and crafts it has stuff to decorate man caves and I love model trains as well, so every now and then they have trains, and lastly they have very nice Christmas decorations as well, but I don’t dislike Michael’s I just don’t think they sell as much as Hobby Lobby but otherwise I do like them over Joann’s no doubt! 😅 Otherwise my favorite store is Academy Sports out of all retailers then Five Below, but places I miss: Toys R Us, Media Play, Kb Toys, Blockbuster Video, Borders! 👍🏻

I am not surprised that the ones in my area are going out but the one in my hometown area of Georgia Dallas Merchants Drive that’s shocking that one must still do well they have nothing out there except for an Ingles supermarket out there miss that grocery store a lot blows Winn Dixie to pieces, and it’s cheaper than Publix and nicer than Kroger as well, but anyways hopefully Ollie’s will return my area soon! 😁
