Definitely cool layout! Only problem with brass track occurs when you don't run trains enough. I would certainly think about some plexi-glass around the edges, bro. Your trains are perilously close to the edge. Great video!

@VintageRoadRail10 күн бұрын
Not really sure. I would say it can run fast, but not as fast as those old school locomotives from the 80s

Thats the best continuous loop which doesnt look like it at the overall. I put off building with all the power blocks mess. Love the DCC.

Great video. I just got the rock island dl 109, and it doesn’t work right. When I apply full power (I have the same tracks and similar transformer to you) only the light shines, but it doesn’t move. The box of mine also doesn’t say DCC. Do you think you an explanation of this?
@VintageRoadRail14 күн бұрын
DC or DCC?
@Corncob_Ethan.714 күн бұрын
@@VintageRoadRail it does not say on the box. The only running part that it says is that it is 12 wheel drive. I’m maybe guessing dc?

@@VintageRoadRail found one and got it ordered, sadly my local shop didn't have one, but I just basically did this procedure on one of my 1990s Bachmann cars, a Grey "Southern" gondola, now has a Kadee knuckle on one end so I can run my newer cars (which are much nicer with their details and metal wheels) with my older bachmann cars that are all plastic wheels with Horn Hook couplers!

I've got the same kind of railroad crossing on my current 11x8 L-shape HO-scale model train layout. It's mostly a DCC layout with nickel-silver Bachmann E-Z Track and realistic landscaping, but it's got a fun "retro" aesthetic to it. Of course in the usual advertising fashion they stretch the truth by dubbing in the sound of a real railroad crossing bell; on the actual TYCO crossing the bell is much smaller, but it's still such a cool and unique accessory from TYCO. (Bachmann's attempt at such a flashing and ringing crossing signal at that time wasn't as good.)

Very nice haul. I love that Mehano set. I've got 2 Mehano Mikado 2-8-2's. I got 4 new (to me) engines for Christmas. 3 MRC F-7's: 2 FP-7A's & 1 F-7B and an Athearn FP-7A in Amtrak livery to pull my Amtrak consist. I never knew MRC (Model Rectifier Corporation) made HO scale locomotives. They are from around 1999, and are in like new condition. They feature 5 pole skewed armatures in a can motor with 2 brass flywheels, cab interior, see through metal Farr grills, all grab irons installed except for the eyebrows and front sill grabs and are DCC ready. All I did was take off the wheel covers, clean the wheels and lube the gears. They run like silk and are very quiet. I love 'em. Only paid around $50.00 each including the shipping. Just as good as my DCC ready Atlas if not better. Happy New Year from eastern TN

President's Choice is a line of grocery products sold in grocery stores owned by George Weston Inc like Loblaws, Dominion, No Frills, etc in Canada. The first President's Choice train sets come out for Christmas 1992, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the line of products. No sets were released in 1996, 2000, 2003 and 2004. They were made by Mehano and featured locomotives (diesel & steam) decorated for either CN or CP. Of note Mehano did at least tool up the correct fronts for a few of the steamers including the CN 6060 "Bullet Nose Betty" 4-8-2 mountain type. This was the first time this style of front was offered in plastic.
