Is it bad to trick someone to step into a church? My daughter, son-in-law, and their two daughters, whom they ARE NOT raising in the Faith, are traveling in France. I requested that they make a point to stop in some Catholic churches so their daughters can see the artwork and splendor.... furthermore, I asked for a candle to be lit for me at the church they visit. My prayers for their change of heart are slow in being answered. Maybe a visit or two might get a spark going?

Bless your heart Father Brad. You have shed light on our dilemma. That being as Joseph is Jesus' adopted father how does Jesus fit into the genealogy as described in the Gospel. The answer found in Luke as you pointed out concerning Mary his mother being too from the line of Judah as was Joseph. We appreciate your reflection on this.

I have wondered about this very point for years. Joseph was the foster father, so I wondered how Jesus could be from the line of Judah. I too wondered if it came from Mary's lineage. I love this!
