I have tried this experiment multiple times with variegated pothos leaves --many different varieties-- but have yet to be successful. I was hoping to write up a lab for my advanced students to do, but if I can't do it I can't hope that they will be successful.

Hello Tom I'm biology teacher too. I have a question. The ciliary muscles of a normal eye are in their most relaxed state as then the thickness of the lens increases, thus increasing focal length. So how you say the ciliary muscles are contracted when we look at near distance? 🤔 I think when we look at far distance then the ciliary muscles contracted

All normal eyes, continously monitor micro-blur on the surface of the retina. It is a superior feedback control system, with a time-constant of about 1/3 second.

More useless information that is taught in school 🤷🏾‍♂️ Not knocking this dudes passion but stuff like this should be for those that want to major in biology Otherwise, just the basic concept of science is enough.
