Hello, your video was really helpful for me. I just had a microdiscectomy about 2 weeks ago! Did you experience nerve pain, numbness, and tingling post-op during the 3 month mark? I'm still facing these pains, less than pre surgery, but still there!
@DadTalk

Hello, thank you so much for watching and I hope your recovery is going well. I did have some pain associated with the surgical site on my back. Some of the inflammation did cause me to have some minor aches/tingles/numbness but it was nowhere near as bad as before surgery. It would happen every now and then for a few months but each day was better so long as I didn't strain my back. Be sure to follow up with your doctor if the symptoms don''t subside. Sometimes permanent nerve damage can happen if you've been dealing with a herniated disc for a long time.

We've had no issues with it. It's not a firm lock in place, but it's firm enough to function as expected. Enough force can flip it around, but it's not something that causes any issues. It's used heavily too, and has been passed down from our oldest to our youngest. Had it for over 4 years and it's still doing well. Thanks for watching!!!

When did you start Bending and Twisting? And did you had stiffness on your calf and for how long. I am 6 week post op.
@DadTalk
@DadTalk Ай бұрын
I didn't have any stiffness in my calf, but I was able to do small amounts of twisting and bending after 4 weeks, it very limited range of motion, and it hurt quite a bit. Physical Therapy seemed to hurt more than it helped at first, so whatever hurt the most I didn't do. I just focused more on walking. It was a few months before I could bend and twist without it hurting, but it did eventually happen. Have patience and continue to follow up with your doctor. Swelling and scar tissue at the surgical area can cause your nerves to send pain singles down your leg, especially if it's still affecting your sciatic nerve. But hopefully that should all go away in time.

Thank you so much for watching. Tell your partner to be patient. After the first year, as long as you stay on track with taking care of your back, nothing too strenuous or damaging, it will be a night and day difference. I know what you mean with the pain on the right side, that should subside as long as you aren't doing too much. Walking and finding a comfortable sleeping position are really the most important things. I couldn't sleep on my stomach or back for about a year. Hope you're feeling better quickly!

I see you’re not too active on here anymore…I’m in Asheville NC…I lost almost everything. I’m trying to figure out a way to get winter clothes for my daughter and I need a Stroller bad! I am living in a shelter with my little girl…I know this is a stretch and so unlikely, but if you had a way to contact Amanda if she’s even there anymore…I would love to be able to have a stroller for my daughter. This one is what I had and I loved it! I can’t afford to replace it, but I’d take anything at this point!

Chicco Bravo LE vs Graco Nest is what we are deciding. I seen in a comment you prefer the chicco now. Does the Chicco hold up well?
@DadTalk
@DadTalk 3 ай бұрын
The Chicco is still our daily go to stroller. Its a bit heavier than the Graco, but its much easier to fold and unfold. The Graco however has a very cozy bassinet feature that our newest little one seems to love over the Chicco, so if you've got a newborn to 6-8 months that loves to nap, the Graco might be your best friend. Bassinet mode on the Graco is also a game changer for diaper changes on the go. Thanks for watching!
@ellenjonasson94
@ellenjonasson94 3 ай бұрын
@@DadTalkIf you could only get one, which features are the deal breaker for you? I'm also deciding between these two and will be getting the travel system with the matching car seats. Im leaning towards the Chicco because it seems like the better stroller for long term use with larger toddlers/little kids? But I'm just not sure if we're going to regret not having the newborn bassinet option available.
@DadTalk
@DadTalk 3 ай бұрын
@@ellenjonasson94 no doubt the Chicco is the better overall option long term. The fabric is more durable and the ability to one hand it open is a big plus. The Graco is awesome, light and easy to use as well, but I always feel like I'm going to break it. The Chicco can take a beating

@DadTalk
@DadTalk 3 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that. I'll be making a 2 year post op recovery video very soon. I have to say, everyone has a different experience. Different surgeons have different techniques and experience levels. For the most part, I have had a great recovery, but it took a long time to get where I am. Some days I'll still get a ache or pain, but nothing compared to what I was dealing with previously. In all, it was a night and day difference immediately after surgery and it has stayed pretty consistent with that. I no longer have shooting pains down my leg, or temporary numbness/giving out. I hope you can find a treatment that works for you. I suggest making a list of pros and cons of your options. If any benefit outweighs the risk, it might be worth considering a discectomy. But that all depends on your level of severity, Thanks for watching, I hope you get the solution you need.
