Xumo issues I am having-I get the 3 dots of death when watching the spectrum app 10 times a day I have to press the ok button or turn on an doff multiple times to get the program to come back on. This has been going on for months since I received. The Spectrum Tech have been to my home multiple times and replaced the model, cables etc. Signal is strong. I am on a wireless NetGear router, Netgear claims it is not there issue. Spec Tech support has seen this issue but does not know what to do about it. What is the problem???

I have not seen that problem yet but had a similar problem on my streaming box where it would have to wait for content to load. In my case, the streaming box was using a mesh network for wifi. To fix, I moved the router to the tv stand and did a direct ethernet cable out of the router and into the streaming box. Still happens, but much less frequently.

Do you know if it’s still possible to get the traditional cable boxes from spectrum. We are an existing spectrum subscriber but got rid of our cable boxes awhile back. And we’d like to get those back as opposed to using this xumo streaming stuff.

Yeah that’s an excellent question! I haven’t been into the Spectrum store in a while but I imagine they still do. Would be worth a stop there this weekend to find out.

@TheNewAgeDeveloper according to the spectrum store rep I talked to this weekend, they still have the traditional cable boxes in stock at the store I was in but are intentionally pushing the Xumo boxes. He estimated a handful more years of having traditional cable boxes in store, but I wasn’t sure if he meant they’d be off the list entirely or just direct ship… either way sounded like they are moving into Xumo on purpose and that it will be harder in the future to walk into a spectrum store and get the traditional cable box. I’m puzzled by them moving tv off of coax and onto internet, they own the coax network after all. Maybe it uses less bandwidth to transmit over internet on Xumo then it does to transmit over coax on traditional cable boxes - giving them more internet bandwidth availability on their coax network. Just a thought.

@TheNewAgeDeveloper my guess is a strong yes because they also run their internet service off coax so they would need those technicians around to service coax internet at a minimum. Also once you have the coax in your house, I’ve hired a handyman in the past to extend my coax to our three season porch so if after you move, after spectrum does the initial coax connection to your house, if you need more coax drops for your TV, hiring a handyman is a good option. I used to run phone jacks myself many moons ago when they were analog. Still have the punch-down tool to terminate the line! That was pre-wireless internet.🛜

This is a POS!!! Spectrum washes it hand of it once you buy it. They throw it into Xumo hand, And the only support you get from Xumo is bullshit remote bot support that will tell you to constantly restart the Xumo box or refresh the apps. The Spectrum app constantly crashes all day and night! It is worse than the Spectrum cable box which we all now was a POS!

There are only one, maybe two outlets in the rooms so a travel charger with at least two ports is a must to keep your devices (ex. Phone, tablet) going is strongly recommended. Extra pillows are welcomed to have in case you don’t get enough support. You’re going to want to bring light, thinner backpacks or wide duffle bags to pack your overnight items, either will stow up top nicely. Also any kind of collapsible bag with odds and ends (ex. Light snacks in a reusable grocery bag). Recommend grip slippers for nighttime bathroom trips, rather than going in your socks. Also from the bookstore, some funny books (my fav) and attachable reading lights. And a belt Fanny pack is great for going to the club car or dining car and keeping your valuables safely on you without having to lug a pocket book. It’s definitely more user friendly and time tested. The new stuff is cheaper but makes it less enjoyable overall. I mean, the lack of ability to channel surf on Spectrum on Xumo is for me the biggest glaring downside (among others…)

Yes please checkout @davedumond9268 reply on another video where they outlined how to reset the remote without resetting the whole device (Thank you @davedumond9268) : "- Resetting the remote...Press and hold the ← and + buttons for three seconds until the light at the top of the remote turns solid green. Then, press 9, then 8, then 4. Yes it is exactly a competitor of Roku, Fire Stick, Apple TV. And yes if you are a Spectrum customer and you have a smart device with the Spectrum App on it, you can watch Spectrum that way just the same. Same for Xumo Play App.

About that "+" button... The plus (+) button on an Xumo remote has multiple uses, including unpairing the remote, resetting it, and trying additional remote codes: - Unpairing the remote Press and hold the Back and Add (+) buttons together for three seconds until the LED is solid green. Then, press 984 on the remote and try syncing it again from Xumo settings. - Resetting the remote Press and hold the ← and + buttons for three seconds until the light at the top of the remote turns solid green. Then, press 9, then 8, then 4. The light will blink red a few times and then turn off. - Trying additional remote codes Use the remote to try additional codes or manually pair it using the TV's make and model number.

@spiet7380 yeah time will tell, I have the same expectations. Feel like I got lucky with the prior unit from LG which lasted just over 10 years. The oldest appliance still running in my house is the Sears Kenmore electric dryer at 21 years old. I hesitate to even write that for fear it will break now lol 😂

This video is very helpful. I wish I would've looked this up two months ago because I've had two months of frustration with the remote. I tried all of the features you highlighted and they worked pretty well especially the last channel button. The only tweak to the video I would recommend is #6. Once you are on the guide, the video says to 'press' the middle enter/OK button to receive a filtered guide with options. Instead, "hold down" the middle enter/OK button to see the filtered guide menu he shared in his very helpful video. Now that I saw this video, maybe maybe the remote will grow on me 😮

Thank you so much for commenting and for the last channel fix. The remote grew on me too but I do hope Spectrum replaces it soon with something that has channel up and down buttons. Basic channel surfing buttons were left out and it’s a shame, that’s part of the tv watching experience!

My mom is done with Dish so I ordered Spectrum for her expecting a large cable box like ours, which we've had for many years and they sent the Xumo. Everything I was reading kept prompting to use an app. I told the guy that she does not have a computer or a cell phone. I'm using my email for her Spectrum phone service so hopefully your video will help. I will come back to it if I need assistance. Every company automatically thinks that everyone in the world has a pc and a cell phone and that is not the case, especially with elderly people that are not up with the times. I'm up with the times but I am not a cell phone app download person. I use it to text, talk, pictures, KZbin and that's it.

What up y’all. I know everyone has different opinions which I respect but in my opinion these trees no matter the model, they’re not worth it. They’re overpriced and the quality is not that great. You’d be better off buying from Walmart or another store of your choice where you can buy a Xmas tree. I personally assembled various models and that’s my opinion. Save your hard earned money guys but if any BH tree works for you, go for it 😊

So that was the result of a technical learning curve on my part. KZbin offered the option to blur some faces so I said ok, that would be respecting people’s privacy so, good, let’s do that. then it randomly blurred some other faces and even objects the flowering tree outside the train station in Lorton.

Thanks for this I drew my own conclusions, but I'll tell you my issues with your video. You keep going on and on about the blades. As a product that is used to CHOP THINGS INTO TINY TINY BITS it's an absolute plus. The fact that you are afraid of sharp blades, essentially knives, at your age and constantly moan about the fact that blades that need to be sharp are sharp is ridiculous. Next, the noise. You compare it to a dishwasher. (and then you compare it to a dryer... like... what?) compare it to other similar sized blenders, it's a BLENDER it WILL be noisy. A dishwashers rotating motor is far far slower than this, (and larger) not to mention the different enclosure of course it will produce a different much lower noise. Your previous model wasn't the ultra it was a different model. Buy the same type of model and wow magic the container will fit. It's not like that model is discontinued. You bought a DIFFERENT model. Built differently. Of course the accessories are going to be different.

I have had one of these for maybe 6 years and i hate it. Constant problems. Restarts randomly and takes 3 minutes to reboot. Water temperature fluctuates. I will happily go back to a tank

The plus button works outside of the Spectrum app. You can use it to, when you find a show you want to watch later, hit the plus button while on that show’s thumbnail and it will save it to your My List (favorites). Far as I can tell, it only works outside of the Spectrum app.

Not being able to pause and rewind live TV is a showstopper for me. I had to get this with my new home in a multi-family dwelling and so I have to pay for it, but prob won't use it. Only YTTV for me! Also can't add local channels to favorites or organize the guide with just my favorites. and I was told by spectrum the cloud dvr has issues and they are not even enabling them right now.

This lets you easily match the pitch of the keyboard to the range of other instruments. F#2-B2 == Shifts the pitch down from normal in semitone steps. C3 == Resets the pitch to normal. C#3-F#3 == Shifts the pitch up from normal in semitone steps." Hope that helps!
