I hate starlight other than in the final season and the two parts in the final season she was so annoying and just useless

Andrea Libman and Ashleigh Ball were having fun with their characters. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie are both great at buckball. Fluttershy's angry facial expressions made me laugh so hard 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😡😡😡🤣🤣🤣

I liked the songs especially "open up your eyes" hits hard but I dont like the fact that starlight is just a background pony 😅 i mean like Is she not ready to go on an adventure with twilight and her friends?

This is the movie where i shipped Twilight and Pinkie Pie. Forget Twipie, Twinkie is best. Also the way they were acting like gfs and Pinkie the only one who cried when she thought Twi died was amazing. I love my girls

Okay movie, I’m kinda just here for the songs and art style 🧍‍♂️

This is the kind of movie that would have been amazing for anyone that didn't watch the show due to how disconnected from the rest of FiM it feels. Unfortunately that's a very small number of people and for anyone not apart if that demographic it's flaws stand out like sore thumbs, if only the movie writers actually communicated with the show writers in any capacity, and hey maybe they did but even if so it definitely doesn't feel like it. When I first started work on my rewright project I knew that I'd have to watch this again, and it had been awhile so I thought that maybe my initial ideas and changes might have been too harsh and perhaps I could stick closer to the movies plot with only a handful of tweaks. Turns out I wasn't nearly harsh enough with it in the beginning, and if it wasn't for like three or four things from the movie that I somewhat liked and thought could be useful if I kept them around then I'd have cut the entire movies contents out completely. Instead I elected to cut out the usable bits, sprinkle them around a bit, reshape a handful of things that could've been better with some artistic licence and leave darn near everything else on the cutting room floor. I'm having to do alot of back and forth with the series as a whole to make sure that my rewright, while different, could reasonably be in place of the series proper. This means that I do have second thoughts about details, the placement of events, the outcomes of events, the interaction of certain characters and what not, but one of the few things that is concrete in my mind is that the movie as a whole package is not equal to the some of it's parts and that by grinding it down into a fine powder I've only done my project a favour.

Good thing it was made for kids, not grown ass men who have nothing better to do than piss and moan about a movie.

I love the movie. Best songs, Twilight and her friends are amazing - wish Starlight was involved instead of a background character in the movie, I love Capper, Captain Calanero, Queen Novo and Princess Skystar, and besides The Storm King it has the best reformed villain, Tempest Shadow, with the awesomest name ever "Sodapop Berrytwist" - which sounds like a off brand soda, in my opinion. Overall, I give this movie a 8/10.

I like how derpy saved twilight in the movie

Season 8 was supposed to to be part two of season 7 starlight was gonna go on her own adventures and make her her own elements of harmony and derpy was gonna join starlight's friend group. The reason starlight was not in the movie is she and trixie were supposed to be traveling somewhere

The movie is a 8/10. The villian and other princesses are dumb, but seeing more of Equestria was cool. I felt bad for Twilight the entire time, since her friends were stupid and caused 90% of all the problems. Overall Hasbro did great, but could have improved on a few things.

I had a.. ‘fan’ like this. He was autistic I think and didn’t think it was weird. It was years ago but it was uncomfortable. He wanted to be my boyfriend (while I already had one) and he wouldn’t stop until I said yes and just pretended I liked him. He didn’t like.. try to court me or anything, just seemed happy to call himself my boyfriend. Eh.. learning to stand up for myself.

I swear. The relationship between an older sister and younger sister is just on another level compared to the relationship between a older brother and younger brother. Probably because women are capable of expressing more caring emotion to each other compared to men. I mean brothers do love each other and care for each other but sisters on the other hand often show “parental” support to one another. A clear example is how celestia felt when ruling equestria while her sister was imprisoned on the moon. She must have felt so much guilt for not only being neglectful of her younger sister but also for banishing her thinking it’s her own fault for her sister’s misery. Of course when she got her back she showed genuine care this time and even gave Luna a chance at everything like trying to fit into ponyvile during nightmare night or when celestia and Luna use their magic to aid the crystal empire and show support to twilight together. Overall I personally believe that sisters are really good at reconciling with each other compared to brothers. But of course Brothers are also good at reconciling with each other too. Not everyone is the same but for me sisterhood is on another level compared to brotherhood.

In my opinion, the pillars were pretty much pointless even though I like the tales that were told during season 7.

Starlight is one of my fav characters, she’s such a vibe lol. I loved the time where would interrupt twilights friends speeches 😂

Ooh somthing tangentially related to shipping, my expertise So like Starlight and Twilight's relationship has always felt like Twilight and Celestia's relationship to me, and I mean it's literally highlited in the show. But other than that, Twilight's relationship with Starlight has always felt weirdly maternal, like she practically became Spike's older sister and I absolutely LOVE that, I'm kinda bummed that those three didn't have a lot of scenes together. The closest thing we have is the clip show, with Starlight and Spike making the memory book for Twilight, and that is SO precious Anyway that's my 4 cents, cheers!

Twilight and Starlight were a great pair here, but Twilight carried this episode. She learned a great lesson.

I didn't like the episodes. The way twilight and starswirl treated starlight just for only twilight to be congratulated for the success of reforming the shadow pony pissed ne off. And even the reformed shadow pony is shown what ? 4 times and after he is saved we don't know anything more about him ? Idk the whole arch pissed me off a lot on certain things.

Again, I love this part 2 episode because of Starlight. Scenes with her and Twilight are what makes it enjoyable. Then again, just like part 1, Starswirl is a unlikeable douche, even though he does a 180 in the end - which means nothing, The Pillars are just prideful jerks, especially what they did to Stygian (because in the end he reveals to them that he just wanted to be like him and be part of what they do), and Stygian/Pony of Shadows is okay villain, but he is quickly reformed in the end and it doesn't do anything with him afterwards. So he just written off as a one-note villian. Overall, the second part of the episode is just like the first one - it is okay but nothing interesting.

We've crossed the Event Horizon and it's all down hill from here... a horrible accident occurred and it was called MLP FiM season's 8 and 9... oh and maybe the 2017 movie too...

I like the references in the episode

Stygian was such a convoluted way to make a villain. Even without him being a straight up rehash of Nightmare Moon, Pony of Shadows is such a heaping mess of wasted potential that's only made worse by being connected to the Pillars and thus sharing the consequences of their bumbled writing, especially Starswirl. Heck it's not even just that he's wasted potential as a villain himself, but rather the fact that this whole thing was a massive missed opportunity of having a completely different, and better, villain taking his place is what irks me the most.

I hate how Starswirl did an immediate 180 at the end. The show always does this, I kinda absolutely hate it. I mean, I get it, family show and all that, but I hate it. They did it right with Starlight, showing she was actually struggling with being better. They did Starlights redemption well but honestly they didn’t really do well with anyone else’s. Villians are always reformed extremely quickly. But hey, at least Chrysalis was a villain to the end and they didn’t screw it up, which actually fit her character.
