I've a 2016 Superb 140k miles. Well built and reliable. Just issues with the damn power tailgate electrics. Downside with the skoda is the lifeless steering . Does make for a dull drive. Mondeo tdci, had a 2009 with 175k. It was killed by the dpf. Too costly to replace. The mondeo was a great drivers car. Possibly the best I've had.

Here is one for you, probably unexpected. I frequently drive a 2007 Range Rover 4.2 supercharged. It has about 250,000 miles on the clock. It drives like new, looks great and isn't particularly expensive to maintain. Since we only paid £2700 about three years ago, even if the engine blows up or the gearbox drops out, it doesn't really owe us anything.

Not a great video. Pointless comment at the end that any car should get to 500k if maintained properly. They won’t. Also I agree with Skoda Octavia and some Mazdas but not Vauxhall or Ford. If you want to show that they can reach 500 k then show the proof, don’t show adverts for cars with 150k. You can find literally any car model in an ad with 150k. Please improve your content.

I had a Skoda Octavia as a co car and all was good up to circa 45K when all the injectors needed to be replaced at a cost of nearly £2K. Other than that it was ultra reliable but was definitely showing signs of internal trim wear at around 60k which is when it got swapped out. Apparently it now has 113K miles on it at 11 years of age.

This is not the first turbo roundabout in America...

I used to work wtih someone who had a 1996 Ford Mondeo TDCI that had done 260 k miles in 13 years and was still running perfectly. Similarly I was in a Skoda Superb taxi in Carlisle last year that had racked up 200 k miles in ten years and while it was tatty inside and had some scraches and dents, the driver said it had never failed to start and had nwver broken down.

Sadly, we have just had to scrap our year 2000 Fiesta Mk 4. It had done over 300,000 miles - and had the 1.2 petrol engine. It still drove like new and the engine was incredible BUT rust overtook it and our friendly, local welder could do no more!

A former colleague left bus driving and became a private hire/Uber, he got himself a skoda Octavia 2004 1.9 TDI, he's got now 1.300.000 miles on it now, yes, 1 million 3 hundred thousand miles and runs like a swiss watch, he uses the cheapest Halfords oil on it but he does the oil change every 7-8.000 miles instead of the 12 000 recommended, "cheap oil, frequent oil changes, smooth drive, don't rev too hard while the engine is cold " that's what he says
