Would a bad PVC cause the car not to start? Son was driving home and it just died. I'm getting a 2177 error and it cranks over, but will not start.

Highly unlikey. A bad PCV valve is more likely to cause rough running or smoke blowing

On the rear passenger side, the adjustment hole is in 9 o'clock position. To tighten up all the way, adjust it to the right. Then to loosen up, just 4 click to the left should work.

Most stupid design for a pcv valve every, hours or labour for a 20 dollar part. Having to take the intake and crap off, who not put it on the top of the damn engine like the 1ZZ-FE corolla engine for example! 2 minute job verse 2 - 3 hours easily even in a proper garage. Assholes 😂

1:47 uhhh the o-ring seal for the pcv is still in the plastic oil air separator! make sure you re -use it or buy a replacement o-ring. i also be prepared to get a new plastic ring since it may be brittle now & prone to break apart when prying too hard.

Shared Ford parts for these including the whole engine are cheaper too! 😂 I'd always go Ford for spares on most Mazda l engines
