I have found a 1980 5-cent coin with what I think is a die error on the side of the obverse. The two-half circular die cut marks are under the lettering and the date. This gives the appearance that the queens head is raised domed. There is little wear on the coin overall. However, it appears the 80 in the date has sustained some damage from the die cut mark. I understand that there were over 100 million minted, but I have not seen many coins with this error. I will get this one appraised and valued at our local coins and collectables shop.

Thanks PJ! Just did a $200 20c coin noodle and got an awesome Lamination error on a 1967. It's on the Queens head right across the face of the coin through her nose. It's got a full length crack and also section of the coin is peeled off almost like ripping off a label and some of it gets left behind.

Hi pj i have one 1971 50c Aussie coin &a1981 plain aussie 50c Are they rare

I also have 9 1933/32 overdate pennies and a 1925 penny that I'd picked up from a job lot of pennies that I'd got at an auction in Brisbane.

I have 3 of the 1946 Australian pennies. One is circulated and has a small amount of verdigris. The second has been attacked by someone who used an angle grinder on it and chopped a small piece off it and the 3rd was turned into a desk clock face and silver plated by that coin watch company.

I found a 2001 year of volunteers coin with a cud error on the heads side, is it worth much?

Nice find. I was very lucky in one noodle of 2c coins. I got a missing SD 68 and an 81 in the same job lot that I'd gotten from the bank. $142.32 worth of 2c coins. That took a while to go through.
