Good job! Tricky wrestling with it. We just found an old one in our barn near Gettysburg PA. Thanks for the demo.

Do you make a pilot hole on the canvas? Won’t the canvas frame crack if you don’t? If you even wanted to reuse the canvas or change the frame, you would be left with a damaged canvas ?

What is the name of the tool use to tighten the frame ? in 5:33

This is just what I need! My girlfriend is a painter, and loves to hang up her art in wooden frames such as yours. I have bought some used frames and are going to restore them for her😊

Great job using those scrap pieces! Very nice look and it goes to show how much you can do with even modest resources. I look forward to seeing what you make next.

That is a nice display, How did you determine how far apart to drill holes for the shot glasses?
@WCFinishingTouch3 ай бұрын
I put all of the shot glasses to cover one board and I adjusted the glasses for space. Each glass is 3/8" apart.🙂

Cool build ! I’m curious, was that a Forstner bit you used with a regular drill?? If so, do you have any tips please?
@WCFinishingTouch5 ай бұрын
Yes, it was. I used a regular drill and the bit was a little wider than the dowel. When using a power hand drill and Forstner bit, you have to try to keep it at 90 degrees and press down slowly.

Very pretty now. The shellac does a better job of enhancing the color than had it been varnished, like the original finish. I'm not a fan of oak, but a refinished piece of oak can look better than the original. This one does.

I just clamped mine together following your plans. I’m tempted to throw a nail in each corner for stability. Could always putty small hole. What are your thoughts?
@WCFinishingTouch7 ай бұрын
You can do that if you want to. Put the nail in the corner where no one would see it, the top and the bottom of the frame.
