I grew up watching World Cup games announced by this guy. PASSION for the sport makes ALL the difference. By comparison, watching the same game via an English language broadcast is like listening to golf being narrated.

When fans really became aware of Rudy, and I’m talking about guys like me who were little kids at the time studying every lyric, photo and liner note on the inside of an Ozzy sleeve- this was a time of shredding at its finest. Every kid I knew wanted to be Eddie, Randy, John Sykes etc etc…Then you became aware of what Rudy was doing and maybe along with Steve Harris and Bob Daisley all of the sudden bass became cool. He stood out and really let so many of us know, dude you can try this and be as cool and flashy as anyone else in the band. You can totally channel badass Metal through a 4 string bass! This was huge to me. Now I’m older than he was in this video and he’s STILL inspiring and influencing so many! On top of that, he always comes across like both a professional and such a gentleman. Love you Rudy! Thanks for the inspiration!
