Thank you so much! We hope you enjoy the rest of the story just as well! Regarding the masterminds, it's an interesting question since it wasn't specified in the game. I'll try to explain shortly how I'd probably imagine it. Massive endgame spoilers for LIVe or Die and DRV3, obviously. . . . . . . . . If the mastermind was of the 'delusional' type, they were not random. Yes, Ryo did that in his game, but that was since he wanted to have a surprise and solve the case himself. In regular DR, the writers chose the character that would best fit that role. And unfortunately, that character would have no chance of surviving. They could either 1 - get murdered, 2 - get executed if the Wolf won, 3 - get executed at the end of the game in the 'mastermind has been defeated' scenario. The second type of mastermind, the TDR employee, had a different situation. They were protected from being executed (that is, they would have been executed, but it would be staged - although it was kept a secret not just from the participants, but also from the audience to pretend that everyone died for real). But they still were risking getting murdered by another participant. The one exception was Tsumugi who was executed for real, since TDR made her into a scapegoat for what happened in season 53.

@@danganronpaLODandSG That's an interesting take! Seeing your game also reminded me of a Video watched about V3 mastermind scenarios. In it, it mentioned the possibility of a sympathetic mastermind. I have yet to see a single danganronpa game explore this possibility, fangan or not, but I feel like the V3 universe is the best way to do it. Basically, I think it would be someone who is either a. In sever debt and doing it to improve their family's living conditions or maybe trying to get financing for a sick family member or b.Someone who hates danganronpa fans and the community, and decides to join the show and is offered to become the mastermind to try and kill off danganronpa fans who auditioned for the show. They see all the people who auditioned as dangan fans, so they use this as an excuse to justify overseeing their murders. I think it would be a cool concept if you combine both of these scenarios into one, maybe the person even has a contract preventing them form being executed. Or alternatively they could try and infiltrate TDR to become an executive who would be capable of doing this. They could then at the end have a change of heart and try getting the show cancelled, but unlike V3 it falls falls flat on it's face and just makes the show a little more unpopular. I imagine this would take place in canon during the era where Ryo described that the show was trying to break away from their cliches, but this was the final nail in the coffin, changing up the Mastermind from being a generic psycho to a sympathetic one with somewhat noble motivations, and it caused a huge controversy in the fandom. People stopped watching because it was way too different from danganronpa. I think suck a person could be known to the survivor community as a "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing," a trope that I'm sure you guys are gonna explore in this game anyway, although not in the way I described it. The only other way I could see this happening is if someone won by being one of the last two people left to survive, and did so by manipulating everyone else to commit violence and distrust each other. I'm excited for the mastermind reveal, especially with this "Council" (My guess it's a group of bitter sheep or Former TDR Excs.) Side Note:In your mind, how many Komaeda clones/Antagonist characters survived? By antagonists I'm referring to people who might be as insane as Komaeda clones, but in a different way, Like Tsurugi kingo from Dra, and David Chiem from DR:DS,? (I don't imagine the survival rate is very high considering what happened to Yukito and Kokichi) and how would they be perceived by the Survivor community if they DID get out? One last thing, how many seasons would end with only two people surviving? I imagine the number is not too high, probably even less than seasons won by Wolves.

@@C.D.Gqp-456 I'd expect the fictional masterminds in Danganronpa seasons had some crazy backstories, often imitating Junko. The SG mastermind... is much more down to earth, but I can't say anything more. Regarding the questions: - The survivability rate of Komaeda Clones was very low. Hayato is the only Wolf survivor like that. As for Sheep, there might be 1 or 2. But most Komaeda Clones die around ch5. More down to earth antagonists sometimes did survive as Sheep, and were treated like any other Sheep. As for seasons with 2 last people surviving, it will be adressed in a late chapter. This was an extremely difficult scenario to achieve, since normally after 5 murder cases ended with no Wolf winner, the season went into the 'final confrontation with the mastermind' scenario. So if we do the math, it means you would need a double murder in several chapters to get to just 2 survivors.

@@danganronpaLODandSG Makes sense. Also if they were always following the "ch3 double murder rule" It could only happen during that era of the show where they were trying to stray away from that. So I'll guess 5-6 seasons.

​@@danganronpaLODandSG I assume the scenario with only 2 survivors means the mastermind survived along with one player, considering as soon as the mastermind gets killed the game ends. In this scenario i see a fight to death between the mastermind and the survivor. I doubt they would simple walk away together. The other possible scenario is, game ending with only 2 survivors after the mastermind getting killed by another player. And this applies to 3 survivors as well, since there will be no room for trials anymore. The way i see it, trials are the core of danganronpas, more than the murder itself, so if arent players enough to do a trial, there is no reason to continue the game. Also, this was never clarified, but if a survivor kills the mastermind, would he be considered a wolf or sheep? since he killed the mastermind i assume no trial would be necessary, the mascot would announce that X killed the mastermind and they won. In that case the survivor took a life, but didint risk everyone being executed since there is no trial, so i see him recieving a very different treatment that a wolf would, since he killed the mastermind, it would be more like a hero

Thank you! I was always a big fan of meta fiction, and was very interested in how this approach would work with the fangan genre. I was particularly inspired by what the Scream series does with the genre of slasher horror movies. This premise also makes it a lot of fun to write, since we're able to discuss and play with the tropes of the genre in every chapter.

They aren't the same Megumi and Takeshi - the 'Megumi' is the character introduced in ch6 of LIVe or Die and 'Takeshi' works the same way (if you finished the first game you should understand what I mean)

@@danganronpaLODandSG Ah yes, i'm still in Chapter 5 trial so thanks for telling me, but i am still quite interested in the sequel because Live Or Die is honestly on my top 5 favorite Fanganronpas, and if anyone would ask me to recommend a Fanganronpa, Live Or Die would most likely be my first pick
