I wish Zazu was as sassy in the movie, him and Scar act like besties who hate eachother at the same time and don't hide it at all in the musical😭

I had the privilege to watch the broadway musical in I think 2011 at Marina Bay Sands Singapore with my late uncle and grandma. It was AMAZING and what made me fell in love with broadway musicals. In the Circle of Life part, the animals came from outside through the door and walked to the stage, so they actually walked beside us and it makes the experience all the more beautiful. And the Stampede scene, the effects of how the stampede came running down the hill was so beautiful it gave me chills. The Lion King broadway is just legendary, I would pay to watch them if they ever come to my country

Let’s just accept that Disney will never do a proper pro shot performance of this. But I’ll take this!!!

Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Costume, and Best Scenic Design at the 1998 Tony Awards. The London production (this bootleg) got Best Choreographer and Best Costume Design Olivier Awards in 1999. Some facts for people who keep mentioning it. This isn't a proshot, it's a bootleg. The Broadway production just had its 27th anniversary. The West End production is in its 25th year. It's currently the third longest running Broadway show in history right behind Chicago and Phantom.

Fun fact: this was back in a period of time where there were 2 North American tours nicknamed "Cheetah" and :Gazelle"they would space out their engagements so they could share the "Pride Rock" set.
