So they check your blood after to measure lactic acid?
@ThunderRoadRunningАй бұрын
For the most part, yes. You can measure byproduct after each rep to measure the efficiency of the aerobic system at that pace.

Is it just me or assistant coach Hazouri is extraordinarily similar to Mike Smith, the nau coach, in the first part of the video? Hat, sunglasses, walk, voice, sentences.. everything almost identical

I could do a follow up episode on what each athlete may have gained that day! Because they are wired so differently it would not be a short watch! Probably the main thing to keep in mind is that these two don’t race in the fall…meaning many more opportunities for big work.

@@ThunderRoadRunning when I ran in college the goal was run 20 x 400 in 60 seconds each with a 200 meter jog between but that never worked out,as the first few and last few were in 60 but those in the middle at least for me lagged behind

Quick question, what would be the minimum effective dose when doing vo2 max stuff ? Eg 3k, 5k work. And would this give the same affect as with the speed endurance stuff ?
@ThunderRoadRunning3 жыл бұрын
I like the question although the answer isn't easy! The MED would just be based on their training age, weekly loads, cycle load, and how many exposures they've had of that type of session! Generally speaking when doing VO2 work the athletes volume of work could be between 20-50% of their aerobic threshold volume (work at roughly 1/2 marathon pace). It's safe to start at the lower end and work up with more exposures...if it ever takes more than 2 days to recover, you've probably overcooked it.

Is the 4mmol inflection point unique to Anrsene or is this a common with most endurance athletes?
@ThunderRoadRunning3 жыл бұрын
The 4mmol mark is very common in endurance athlete's, it's what happens once you cross that inflection point that is unique to the person. Some sky-rocket into the 15+ range and others gradually build as they go. Both have their advantages depending on the event you're training for.
