Yes! Been looking for this video for about a week. Saved it to a playlist this time. Looking to do this modification to a 95 cb250 nighthawk

Jim, will this work on a rebel 450 engine from 87?
@MattSR5007 ай бұрын
Thanks for this, Jim, it's incredibly helpful. I've got a CB250 Nighthawk, which uses the same crankcase and so the same parts you suggest. The mechanism is right now on its way from eBay. Whereas some people drill a groove in the kickstart shaft and use an oil ring, as per Dr. Balog on the Honda Rebel Forum, I'm going to use your method and fit a factory oil seal. The seal I bought, which I believe is correct, has an outer diameter of 29mm. But you cut your hole to 28mm. I'm going to have to buy a cutter, so I can choose to use a 28 or 29mm one. Is it better to use a 28mm one nonetheless, to ensure the tightness of the oil seal?

Maplins. Those were the days. Now uou say theres no more power to be had out of this bike, not quite true, these bikes run about 9hp as standard, Detuned to trach a hp target. breathing better frees just a few more horses, up to about 13! According to estimates, you can also bore up to a massive 143cc! the main blockage is the inlet manifold, solved by a switch to dual carb CV set up.

Top marks for both your wise words and the lady holding the camera. Clear effort by both haha. Thanks Jim, I think I need to have a look at mine as it seems to only want to tart on full choke and sometimes cuts out right away.

hey man i know this is an old video but how did you tune the carb to the pod filter, doing my sr is a nightmare right now

is the throttle cable working correctly? not snagging? too short? as i said above some of us have had to change to a cg cable. Also, have you tried all the adjustments? clip up and down etc
@bobbertomster3 жыл бұрын
@@jimray3954 trottle cable is all fine, but didn't change the clip I will try this and hope it will inprove, with the original carb needed full choke to run, after seeing your video it was wuth just buying a new carb 👍

can you show how you connect all the fuel line, and throttle cable? I need to replace the carb on my rebel but they don't make it anymore. You can just show a video on your bike, no need to take anything apart.
