Just had another thanks for the most comprehensive, clearly explained demonstration of this task! I take abandoned machines and clean them up to donate. So far a good cleaning and oiling has been successful. However, this singer 5705c was completely out of time. I foolishly began by attempting to move the needle bar (no more late night repair sessions for me) then gathering the courage to touch the hook timing. Of course, now if either was ok, they are both a mess! Your video is giving me the courage and markers to try it again. This is a drop in bobbin, but fingers crossed I can apply the principles you explained so well! Thank you!

Thank you for explaining the needle guard versus the hook and also about the stopper mechanism. I have a vintage Stradivaro with a vertical bobbin and an Elna Lotus with a horizontal bobbin that both need timing, but I could not follow other videos.

The white is your batting? it looks like fabric.. I'm really excited to try this on my Cutie tabletop hoop frame. Thank you for making this video. Can this be done with traditional blocks? I have not seen any videos like that out there . Theoretically it sounds like it could be done, right? Can you make a video ?

Lisa Jones, I recently had the same happen with mine, I'm afraid I left it on too long as it started smoking, then I unplugged it. What did you do? Anybody out there know of a repair center?

Love this Video! Very well done and your explanation is very clear and understandable. Excellent video, nicely focused! Any videos on basic maintenance of your Tin Lizzie? (oiling, diagnostic on things such as squealing belts and other issues etc?)

I could actually see what you are talking about. Will try to fix mine so I don't have to take it in for service and pay $150 to service it. Thanks a bunch.

You are a life saver! My mum and I inherited my grandmother’s Tin Lizzie, which had spent a decade or so sitting idle in a basement. I spent all day trying to get the tension right using the written directions in the manual. No luck. Five minutes after watching this tutorial I’ve finally got some decent looking stitches - no loops or eyelashes. Thanks so much! I was about ready to give up, and now I think I’ll be able to finish quilting it today. ❤️❤️❤️

It seems that Tin Lizzie Company has changed hands or names? Lock Smith Lizzie is a more advanced quilting machine. I too have a problem with my Lizzie after moving to a new Studio. I am trying to find the answer to the problem "on line" but it's not working out well.
