Great show today. I am just a little sad that, as a Canadian, I was not in any of the "shipping areas." Not your fault ... I am sure that I am not the only one in this situation.

I don't like how units can be "in" a hedge. This makes no sense whatsoever. This is supposed to be WWII combat, not Watership Down.

Can’t chat or comment on jester’s channel, so will do so here…. One might consider signing up to help with remote multi-player play testing. Get to experience other players in a “relationship” predefined as temporary. If you feel compatible, might pursue other plays of other games outside of play testing - but if you aren’t interested, could simply allow the “relationship” to naturally end at the end of the play test’s play through. Low risk but solid attempt at reaching outside one’s bubble - while helping development of a game design.

I bet you the printer of that game had an excess amount of VHS tape boxes and wanted to use them. I think Mantic games does that as well or did that in the past. Nice little cassette opening Rough!

Thanks for the show and the discussion gents, really looking forward to participate in the show this Saturday😁 Regarding how do I meet people to play with, that's a difficult subject for an introvert 😁I have 2 gaming evenings most weeks, one formed from my lifelong friends (we play a mix of euros/ameritrash games) and one wargaming. I got to know my wargaming buddy via BGG - we got to know each other by trading some games, then figured we may give it a try and it stuck since. Suppose it's persistence, I'm not that easy to get rid of🤣

I will have to look for this game @ Blue Panther. I did not know LnL had this. Interesting fact, as a new Air Navigation Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the 90', I landed on Wake Island and spent the night. This is actually where I got my call sign. One of my claims to fame. Now that I am about to retire, this has brought back good memories. Thanks for the play.

Where is IdJester's email address for non-Facebook users to join the challenge? I didn't see anything on his channel, but I'm probably looking in the wrong spot.
My general gaming goal is to play my history games on the day the event happened [could be when it started, when it ended, some major thing happened]. Purpose is to connect these events to the game. Starting today, Tuesday, January 7, with Prelude to Rebellion. Also going to try to play games more times, other than just once and done.

I'm taking a different approach to "pre-designate any 10 games", even if you played them before - only put 10 new to me games on the list. If I get to complete the challenge it's fine, if I don't at least I make a bit of an impact in my shelf of opportunity playing new titles///

@RoughSwordsmanWargamer14 күн бұрын
Hi Kenneth, thanks for the comment. I'm still learning the game (the video was a learning opportunity for me and Nate). Questions are best directed to the host of the video (Tony's Board Life, mine is just imported from there) where you can leave your questions in the comments. Hope that helps.

Great chat! Sorry that I could not be there, I was skiing... 🙂 About the Blocks of the Battle Commander game: you indeed show the Shaken and Disrupted status by flipping the Blocks, BUT the game also offers optional wooden markers to show these (and other formations) without having to do any flips if you prefer it that way. Note that the maps are mounted and double-sided.

This was a great chat. I'm one of those people that was a euro/ameritrash gamer who came into wargaming in the past few years and the barrier to entry was very high. The rulebooks assume you have been wargaming for years and it took perseverance to break through. And it has to be said, sadly, I also faced gatekeepers quite a few times, "grognards" who were not welcoming, but discouraging, and think you aren't a "true" wargamer unless you've been doing it since the 70s. A lot of the slow progress of wargaming (what we can learn from Euros, or how games have evolved the past 25 years) comes down to many people being afraid of change because "that's how we've always done it". And to balance out my comment, I've also met some wonderful, helpful and friendly wargamers too.
