@@DJTravels Same here, about all I can afford on Viking Ocean is a transatlantic. We like Holland America the best, where Viking River and Windstar clearly go to places that they can't. We tried to give Azamara our business this year, but I learned the hard way that they've got a bad reputation with money for a reason.

@@DJTravels Where are going to going to travel first outside of Florida? I would recommend Charleston SC. Great food and its a beautiful city.

Yes, we have been there several times over the years. We did take our first trip in the unit in the summer. We went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for about three weeks. It was great scenery and food, and we escaped the summer heat in Florida!! This summer (starting mid-May) we will be doing a three month round trip trek to Alaska.

@DJTravels I would love to go to Michigan to play golf. You should throw your clubs in that RV also. Get a couple rounds in. I'm happy for you guys. You are definitely an inspiration. Alaska will be epic!

We havent been on Royal Carribean since 2010, so I don't remember much. The only comparison I can make is that the variety on RC would be much higher. The food on Silverseas is decent, but none of the upcharge restaurants are worth the extra money. Very good pizza and sushi onboard at no extra cost, but everything else is hit or miss. Come back later and we will review each dining venue during our cruise!

@@DJTravels Oh I see. We been on 3 royal carribean ships and my wife wants to check out the new Disney Treasure ship so I'm looking at booking in 2026. Royals food was good but it got redundant. I wonder if celebrity's food is any better. That sucks that Silverseas food wasn't amazing. They are suppose to be a upper tiered experience.

Yes, and it worked out well. We were concerned also, but a porter met us at our Uber, looked up our cabin on his sheets (even though I told him), tagged the bags, and loaded them onto a cart. Easy peasy. We tipped him $10.

Sounds great! We should have the full scope of our videos out before your sailing, so you will be prepared. In general, service is great and the ship is beautiful. Food has been hit or miss, but that is very subjective. We are still having a great time!!

My wife and I have agreed that Joybec has been the best butler we have had! Very nice and has been very accommodating. He even dragged a heavy lounge chair onto our balcony so we could lay out and be lazy together. Sorry that he could not be with you and the children for Christmas, but he is great for us! Have a happy new year!!

In other videos coming soon, we will have good meals, although it has been hit or miss. Service and ship are top notch, with no real complaints. Our butler is great, the best we have had!

We are so glad you enjoyed the videos, Marla and Gene! Our final video from Egypt will be published this weekend. We will be boarding Silverseas Silver Ray on Thursday to travel through the Panama Canal!

We spend a hell of a lot of time on KZbin to figure out what to see, and then we decide upon days at each stop. Advanced registrations are all done through websites.

Also, our next trip starts this Thursday. A 14 night cruise on Silverseas from Ft Lauderdale to Lima Peru via the Panama Canal.

@@DJTravels Thank you for your reply. You do an amazing job pre-planning. It makes your VLOGs all the more interesting. The editing, sound and images are excellent. Regarding Panama Canal, that is one of our favorite cruise itineraries. Did it on Seabourn and Regent. Cruise lines pay extra for early AM entry so you have all day with sunlight to see it. The ships hired a local expert who gave historical and interesting facts thru the entire passage. On the Pacific side is the 'Interpretive Center' for the canal with bleachers to watch ships traverse. We found it worthwhile to visit. Looking forward to your Panama Canal VLOG. Safe travels...
