Those "arent" "F"18's, they are "E"18 GROWLERS by the "non" weapon pods on wingtips. But it IS still an f18 platform.
@Western.aviation9 сағат бұрын
Exactly, I never specified and said “F/-18,” I just said F-18 which refers to the whole series; F/-18A, B, C, C++, D(D might have some other variants too), E, F, and E/A-18Gs.

The true J models have upgraded engines with 8 blade props and avionics. There are older models that they upgraded to the 8 blade prop and left the engines alone to increase performance envelope.
@Western.aviation16 күн бұрын
The latter is what the Montana Air National Guard (the two in the video) has been doing. They have been getting 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 the propellers upgraded. The actual engines and everything else performance related on these two aircraft are the same. Both of these planes are C-130Hs.
@FS2K4Pilot16 күн бұрын
Negative, the Js have six bladed Dowty props. These are Hs modified with Hartzl props. In any case, the 130 just doesn’t sound right without the old Hamilton Standards.

@@FS2K4Pilot Sorry, I am still learning the difference between them from what I see and know. I see the C130's all the time flying around since there is an ANG at MSP airport and my brother works for an air cargo outfit in Anchorage AK and they fly the civilian versions which are longer. In fact Lockheed martin has been hitting them up to by brand new aircraft form them which are way more expensive than buying up used airworthy old aircraft. I would love to ride in one someday.

@@majobis That’s ok. Not everyone is such a nerd about it as I am. Fun fact - current production C-130s and LM-100Js are still using the same construction fixtures as the first Herky Birds from almost seventy years ago.

Technically I never said they were F/A-18s, I only ever said “F-18s” and “growlers” for a title F-18 just fits in better than if I’m like “3 E/A-18G growlers departing in afterburner over head out of Billings, Montana.” F-18 refers to the entire line up almost no matter who you ask, F/A-18A, B, C, C+, D, E, F, and E/A-18G.

It's very sad that a company with a 100+ years of fantastic products like the 777X has gotten into the situation it's in now. What's even more disheartening, if the media reports are correct, is that they are still stonewalling on the Max9 plug door. Imagine, they can't find repair paperwork on a plane delivered in October 2023... They're becoming a disgrace to themselves and what they claim to stand for. Very sad.
