in 2019 or 2020, lonely planet actually named sri lanka as its number 1 recommended travel destination. but then, the freak easter bombings happened, covid happened, economic crisis happened...these things had a cumulative effecf for a perfect storm and tourism took a nose dive. now its slowly but surely picking up again.

ur pronunciation of galle is the closest i heard a tourist pronounce it like the locals lol. actually the english way of pronouncing it is gall, as in gall bladder

thank you for giving us positive image of our capital city !!! most of foreigners give our capital city as a junk , chaotic and scamming city instead of good city. I'm not telling my city is 100% as a good city. but we as a local , not want to hear this negative thought of our city like this.

No problem. I have spent almost 10 years in Asian countries, and Colombo really surprised me (in a good way) - yeah, there are problems, but it's so much better than many other cities in the region and in other parts of the world. So it's just an honest opinion.

Cameron Highland have more England vibe before the 90s, sadly the situation isn't the same now. A lot of things changed past 3 decades, which includes the weather, and road traffic, and increase number of deforestation for building construction. The weather in this highland was much colder in those days, can go down to 10 deg celcius and maximum 18 in the day time, but now during the days it can reach up to 26 deg cel and low just around 15-16 deg cel.
