I'm always confused by all this I still have a 3060 and I play most games on high graphics and sometimes ultra and never have any of these frame stuttering and drops I always see on all these test. I have a relatively cheap build and use a 4k lg monitor. It only ever gets laggy if I have too many side windows open. I overclocked it and all I got was 20 more frames on most games. Did I get the lottery of a better card compared to most? My parts are all relatively cheap compared to the high end stuff and I keep seeing a lot of problems even with older remastered games. The only time I get these issues is when I play for hours and hours which I rarely do so maybe its just a vram issues but I never go over 9gb on the most demanding games and the rest peak at 8. I have by all means a mediocre build how am I getting better results than nearly all youtube tests in games for my pc. Do I jut not have enough crap or games on it?

I discovered from AMD control panel is Much better especially the memory in afterburner if I add 1 mhz in memory clk it gives worst performance but in amd driver you can control the memory voltage The best oc I did is 1490mhz(1186mv) in core clk and 2152mhz(1095mv) in memory clk ;)

Rx 580 was overall %5 slower than gtx 1060, on launch, fine-wine kept happening. And to think, anytime you see GTX 1060 performance regression on some games compared to weaker but newer GTX 1650, AMD's RX 580 won't see that regression, still performing better than GTX 1650 while butchering GTX 1060 on those games. And Rx 580 won't even get proper driver updates anymore. Nvidia clearly slows their old generation GPUs, hardware unboxed / gamers nexus should check this.

You will only notice the difference in bus speeds whenever a game has to move assets across the PCI-E bus during gameplay. In any other situation the assets have been preloaded and cached into GPU memory before the gameplay starts, so the only noticeable difference would be in start-up time of the game then. The loading of the assets during game play clearly shows in the 1% lows. As those will be most strongly impacted by longer asset transfer times. Unless of course the game is constantly having to move assets from system memory (as seems to be the case with Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart)

mostly dont have different because 4060 is not fast enough to surpass pci gen 3 limitation, and the thing hurt the performance most is not the PCI gen, but the PCI lane, 4060 only support pci 4.0 x8, so on pci 3.0, it also running on x8. if it can support pci 4.0 x16, then when it put to pci 3.0, it will also run in x16, and there will be nothing difference

@@TheMrSatyricon 6900xt performance already suprass the pci gen 3 x16 limitation. so it DOES have more performance if you move to the pci gen 4. BUT it depend on you now, if you think at AVG 10% more performance is the thing you need, then go upgrade your board. If I were you, because im on budget, ill keep my system right now, spending more money on the board for just 10% AVG performance is not worthy atleast for me, except I can sell my old board and only spend like 50 USD to get new pci gen 4 board it would be nice

@@vilgax3681 ya, that because nvidia choose to use pcie 4.0 x8, it half bandwidth, so when put on pcie 3.0, it run on x8 too, and the game (RnC) have strange behaviour with the limited bandwidth, thats why the performance gap is big. but it must be fixed with optimization from dev. and scold nvidia, because they only use x8 bandwidth, if it x16, there will be NO DIFFERENT at all. because Pcie 3.0 x16 = pcie 4.0 x8 in term of bandwidth

Depends how many games you save to the main drive - I run multiple just so I can put my non-main but playing titles on and my main constant play are on my 2TB M.2 OS Drive.

Did you not see the video? The 4060 beats the 1080ti in everything plus it has additional technologies like ray tracing and DLSS 3 and it uses less than half the power of the 1080ti and also it will cost just slightly more than a used 1080ti. Buy a 4060 or 4060ti. Don't waste your money on a 1080ti. It is too old now.....

I hate any frame generation and upscaling bullshit. It's not a useful guideline, unless one is specifically interested in that... It also shouldn't count as a satisfying setting at all, least of all for 1080p. Which I also hate, because monitors are 27 inches and it's not 2013...
