Thank you for sharing your results! The Gorilla velocity has to be an error. Gorilla shows a MV of 1970 fps on their website for the 210 gr Barnes TSX load out of a 12" barrel. 50% higher seems out of the realm of possible, especially when you consider most loads/powders for the 8.6 Blackout are designed to max out MV in shorter barrels. Please don't assume you can work up to 3000+ fps based on a likely error.

I don't load to save money my loading room is my store it depends on what kind of shooting I'm going to do for instincts i carry about 25 to 30 different 30cal bullets i can't go to the store and find anything near that on the shelf in loaded ammo and i can take any of them 30cal bullets and load them for 4 different 30cal rifles i have i have a better selection of 30cal ammo then any store that is why i reload and the same goes for all the calibers i own i can try different brass with different bullets or different primers something you could never get from the store.

AA1680 is very nasty. As in dirty. I've been working with N110. 1,500fps is max if you want to reuse your brass. I used a Barnes 285gr LRX. The POS, skinny, rough, Faxon barrel is clearly whipping based on 100yd targets and the way the groups move with powder charge.

Great video Sir. My opinion, if anyone is spending "a few thousand" dollars on one AR, they're clearly not doing enough self education. All the videos I've seen by experts say the same thing, spend your money on training and ammo and not your firearms. I agree with them.
@adrenalinefueledfirearms5 ай бұрын
I think what frustrates me the most is what some companies are charging for ARs. There are a few companies offering these "boutique" firearms and they just aren't worth the money imo. It seems silly to me that people will buy these things which are basically just the same old Stoner design with the same parts from the 60s and some fancy name on them and boom big pricetag.

I have Barnes 160gr TTSX and Hornady 185 CX. I went with Faxon load data. Subs 285gr were 1098fps 16gr 1680, Supers 160gr 1680 38gr crazy numbers I thank the Lord gun didn’t blow up, 7826fps. I don't know if thats accurate or not. Shot 3 rounds first 2 Caldwell says 580 then 7826. I was told by 8.6 guys not to trust Faxon data
@willo77343 ай бұрын
yeah, from experience I can tell you that the Faxon data (supplied by Q) is garbage. If you look closely some of the speeds that shows are the same even with wildly different powder weights. The loads aren’t consistent at all. Also, if you try their load for a subsonic 300 Sierra MK in a 16inch barrel you will get maybe 550 fps or a squib.

There's nothing wrong with BCA . I have a side charger in 6.5 Grendel. BCA gets gruff because of their price point. If folks would know how accurate the BCA barrels are they might have a change in heart and a few extra bucks for ammunition.

I use pulled 223 bullets and surplus powder. Pick up brass at the range. But I also bought primers when they were cheap. I also buy pulled down brass that still has the primer in them. When I run low on primers. I probably will go with cheap import primers for my plinking ammo. I like my AR15 from Bear Creek Arsenal. But I did buy a AR10 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. It was a nightmare. Coating was mostly gone after one trip to the range. Gas port hole was undersized. Gun would not cycle. Primers were cratered. Case swipe. It also had a AR15 buffer spring. The bolt was not a high pressure bolt. I did some research. Installed a tubbs flat wire recoil buffer spring. The gun cycled. But I still had case swipe and primer cratering. I also watched a video about how to check if the lower was out of spec. You squeeze the trigger with the gun on safe. If the trigger pins move up and down. It is out of spec. So I squeezed my trigger. The hammer pin moved up and down. The trigger pin some. But the hammer spring. Was ridiculous loose. I know why the gun had a AR15 buffer spring in it. Because they didn’t want to use a high pressure bolt. And by having a AR15 recoil buffer spring. If should be ok with a smaller gas port. I also don’t like the cheap bolts that are holding the gas key. It was going to cost a small fortune to make it right. I sold it and bought a Palmetto State Armory in 6.5 Creedmoor. Agree with the 22LR being a great way to save money. In fact it is scary how expensive it is to shoot these days. When I go to the range. Everyone seams to be shooting 223, 7.62x39 and 22LR. And they are only at the range for a hour. God bless. And look forward to more of your videos.
@adrenalinefueledfirearms6 ай бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video and it was nice to hear about how you handle your own shooting budget. I agree though. I just relocated and there is a nice range here. But I was going some reloading drills and I swear 2 or 3 people came and went while I was there for a couple of hours on the handgun lanes. It isn't a rent by the hour place so the coming and going was interesting.

I have been reloading since the 1990's. I have seen my share of people get into reloading, spend a bunch of money on equipment and after a short time quit. You have to enjoy the process of reloading or it is not worth the time and money spent. Saving money should be way down on the list of reasons to get into reloading.
@adrenalinefueledfirearms6 ай бұрын
Once upon a time I think that you could legitimately save some money but it just isn't the situation now. However you are right even then I think the best reason would just be customizability. It let's you work with different aspects to find what you personally enjoy the most.
