The problem with 7.62x39 in AR15 platform is the bolts are more prone to breaking than a 5.56 bolt. This is because more material having to be removed to accommodate the larger 7.62x39 round. I have the BCA x39 rifle and really like it too. But it does have it draw backs. Plus, 5.56 ammo is actually cheaper now then x39 ammo.

I have over 2k rounds down range so far and haven't had a break *knock on wood*. The price seesaw and sometimes it depends on how good your ammo is. Any time I have done a search I have always been able to find x39 ammo SOMEWHERE cheaper. But then again I currently have some low recoil Czech training ammo that was supacheap.

I bought a bear creek arsenal 7.62x39 upper for $260. Paired with a PSA lower for $169. With the 2 magazines I bought, it only cost me about $575 after all the shipping. Shoots super cheap ammo like a champ

I built a AR47 with a stainless 20.5 inch heavy fluted barrel with a 308 diameter bore. I reload. And 308 diameter projectiles are less expensive. Especially 125 grain. Especially when they are on sale. Gun is extremely accurate. I have owned a total of four different AR47s. Have not broken a bolt yet. Don’t over gas it.😂😂

I plan to suppress it for grinz and giggles later and if it overgasses a ton I will go to an adjustable gas block. I like to tinker so I am curious to experience and see what happens with the stock gas block
