Hi, really informative video. I'm going to buy the wax for the plastic trim on my Retro Classic Car. Could I ask, can you recommend a good Interior plastic trim restorer? I have particularly scratched and faded plastic trim in the rear of my daily driver estate, from helping friends and family move house. Thanks

I can't afford a polisher but I have a drill... is it silly if I use it with some cheap pads of temu?

You wax a car to seal the paint surface and protect the finish. I live in Australia and it gets up to 45 c in summer. Cars that are not waxed have their top coat peeling in three years. I have a couple of cars and one of them is a 25-year-old Toyota Camry that lives outside in the elements. The paint, apart from life, with a few scratches is nearly in showroom condition, why? Because I wax it with a non-abrasive wax, not polish but wax.

How much do you charge for the full valet? Also, do you charge per mile for fuel to get to locations ?

Prices nowadays are so different to this with inflation and upgrades like better equipment, and with more experience you have to put a price on it

I spent a nice few quid on all different car glass cleaning agent's. Obviously once they sick car on a product the price increases by more than double something even quadruple. Man I thought when you suggested how to do it correctly and it cost nothing I couldn't believe the results. Not a streak 6 weeks later my glass is still better than if I had used the most expensive product on the market. I said it before, Dave, but you are #THEMAINMAN

No doubt effective. However, 250 ml for one wash using a foam cannon seems overly expensive.

I’m guessing you would suggest waxing or spray sealing directly over the SRP, not to panel wipe it off first?

it may be fine wax... but, theres no shine like a car being polished with a machine....1st compound, then 2nd a machine glaze, then 3rd a wax... maybe this wax.....

DO NOT HEAVE THE HEAT GUN IN ONE SPOT KEEP IT MOVING - TO WHOEVER IS DOING THIS. IT MAY CAUSE THE PAINT TO BURN!

Another string to the bow … wash, wax and blow dry 😉 Best thing for removing glue is initially try panel wipe and if thats not working go a bit more aggressive and use 2K thinner. Neither of these is any more riskier than using a heat gun. Use the wipe / thinner on a cloth. As long as paintwork is not in prolonged contact with either liquid it will not get damaged.

Dave, this is a Q off-topic: I've made a terrible mistake. I've used a engine-bay cleaner (degreaser) on window frames in the slight hope of removing algae . Now, when I pull down my windows and pull them up again, there's a fatty like substance covering a corner of my glass. Would you tackle that with a non-diluted APC or what are your experience? Thanks for your inspiring videos. You are an amazing guy!

Keep it 6 to 8 inches from the surface at a slight angle to the lettering and on a medium heat setting, and you'll be fine.

AutoGlym makes several great products. The wash and wax has worked really well for me for over 20 years. I also use Super Resin Polish in the Spring after a good foam, a clay bar a wash ( with AutoGlym wash and wax ) and a dry with a quality drying cloth using no to very light pressure. My right shoulder is buggered up so I’ve used a cheapo dual action polisher with the Super Resin. I then use the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Sealer. 24 hours later I use a second light coat of the Turtle Wx Hybrid Ceramic. I hear the Meguires Hybrid Ceramic spray is as good as the Turtle Wax Ceramic spray. I’m not a pro retailer but people in the neighbourhood comment how shiny my vehicles are and how the water beads ( even several months after the Spring detailing ). I live in an area where it rains more often than it doesn’t. We have a sort of mild winter by Canadian Standards but it does get below freezing and #nows occasionally. Salt and sand are applied to the roads yet my vehicle still shines and beads water after being washed ( using AutoGlym wash and wax. ). That Turtle Wax Ceramic Sealer ( 2 coats ) last3d a year under pretty harsh conditions.

I like these hints and tips videos, very helpful. When I removed my car badges, I remove the glue with 'De-Solv-it Sticky Stuff Remover'. I bought mine from Halfords 2 years ago and it does the job for me. Just wipe on, leave for about 3 minutes and wipe off and rinse. Repeat if required. 👍
