I have used ‘Carpro Perl’ in the past to finish off all sorts. Depending on the typical dilution ratio you can use it for Tyres (1-1), Dashboards, Plastics and Engine bay (1-5) and even rubber mats (1-10). A great multi-use product to have in the armoury.

I used the same IW Plastic Coat product Dave, when i got it in the mystery box in Spring. Did a cracking job on all my Subaru rubber mats. And wiped down before refitting, and had zero issues. but easy to clean each subsequent month.

Theres a few other products out there that do this like Koch Chemie Gummifix and Bowdens Own Vinyl Restorer. Unfortunately a number of us have found out the hard way why we should have stayed away from the usual oil/silicone based dressings.

Thank you for the video Dave. Good tips there 👍 .Another little trick to rejuvenate the look of rubber is to rub the surface with paint thinners. It makes the rubber look like new.

An APC is just an APC regardless, some brands make good some make terrible, find the one that works for you. I like Koch Chemie Green Star and Koch Chemie Gummyfix which is a nonslip rubber dressing. Looks like new without that glazed doughnut look and a safe non slip coating, it works well on pedalstoo. It last a long time too. Not that expensive either 🎉

Would have thought APC like Surfex HD at 5 to 10% sprayed on and a standard drill brush would suffice? Drill taking the effort out of it?

To be honest you don't need all that but in the odd rare occasions when it's really bad then definitely reckon it would help

@epicautomotivedetailing Would Autoglym vinyl/rubber care be good as a final cleaner on rubber mats? I like the way it works on the dash and doors, it's like dirt catches less.
@jjjjjjjjjjjhjjjjjhjj11 ай бұрын
It’s easier to hang the mat with a spring clamp and spray something non greasy like aerospace , working it in by hand is nice but there are far too many grooves. Protecting it in the sun is actually better give it a bit of time and will look new from sun
@patrickroos739 Жыл бұрын
Or you do them all in one go with APC, big car brush, and high pressure wash them, done, any rubber/vinyl trim restorer will make them look new
