First of all, before installing siding on your house, use building rap. Second if you're installing a continuous piece vertically use z molding medal to join 2 pieces together. Third back it up with a piece of 2 by 4 in between each stud. And caulking if you're not using rap.

Hi @SandraRice-hx3jk are you asking about roof or seeping at the floor? I'll try to answer both. For the roof, we were fortunate to have sound shingles in place. We addressed water seepage by digging around the base and coating with hydroponic cement. We also created a slight grade away from the shed on the problematic side where water tended to pool. Probably could do more by way of drainage, but it was a quick effort with what we had on hand and it has been holding up well.

To help keep the saw in a straight line, fasten a board below the cut for the saw to rest on as you make the cut. Another benefit is it holds the saw weight. 😊

That's because Phoenicia isn't upstate. They messed up the location. Its actually in downstate NY. It's 3 counties up from NY's southern border.

My wife was from Phoenica and a cousin of mine lived just up road from her along the creek and I took a room in the Phoenicia Hotel for a while. We used to go tubing long before there were tube rentals.

I know the feeling, had to get rid of an E46 (aka 328 ci) that had almost 200k on it a few years ago. Beamers are built like tanks; what other car can you find that gives you over 300k!! What did you end up getting for the replacement?

@@DiscoverHudsonValley we replaced it with a younger version of the same model. It's great knowing how to load it (inside and on top). Also, just a great vehicle when it's mechanically sound.

Z-flashing would definitely have been the way to go for that seam, however this was a short term aesthetic repair. We figured since we had the extra t1-11 from replacing the entire side that we were cutting a window into we might as well patch this piece until we get to the bigger fix. Thanks for watching.

Hi! Thanks for identifying the chives! I’m excited for spring and discovering all the plants that pop up over time. @@Butchandbellesvilla They will come up every spring especially if you mulch them over winter with just dead leaves or whatever. Let the blossoms dry out on the stem then you can shake the tiny black seeds out. You don’t even have to dig to plant them just take a stick and drag it back and forth across the soil near the original plant and just toss some of the seeds out and they’ll take root. The original plant helps protect them you can also spread them in new places as well. They like lots of water and shade/partial sun. Hot weather is hard on the plant. They do well in pots which can be moved to shady spots when it’s warmer. I love your beautiful stone home. I especially love the beautiful nostalgic grounds. ❤️

We didn’t mulch, but the property was abandoned for years and not tended to before that so the plants must be hardy to have survived neglect. I’ll mulch in the future and also start spreading those seeds around! Love the look of chives in garden beds...very architectural.

I bet the black and white dogs name was Mickey,because if the Mickey Mouse on its butt. The mittens you picked up are called shooters mittens because of the trigger finger is out. Also called sleigh mittens so you can drive a horse drawn sleigh.

We like to stop just down the road at Mt. Tremper at the Catskill Kaleidoscope and shops. Tubing on Esopus Creek is nice, too.

I been to Phoenicia twice to go tubbing. They take the inner tubes from truck tires and over inflate them & ride down the esophas creek (it’s a must when they open the locks or dams as it is not as fun when the water is not flowing as much)

You're 100%, especially with the raid and snow we get, however, we plan to replace the entire siding next season. Since we had left over from redoing a whole side, we just wanted to eliminate that ugly spot and eliminate penetration until then. Thanks and don't hesitate to advise 🙂@LM
