7:40 Bet 1/10th pot on the river to get value from TT and A-highs. Even if he has QQ he is not going to raise the river and he is probably not turning A-highs into a bluff. You will be surprised how many players still call you here with A-highs to just see 'if they're beat' or just curious to see what you have. 👍👍👍👍

lol gtfoh. Rampage the same as Lex? Lex's narration sucks and he's not that great of a poker player. Rampage is better ( not by much ) but you can deny he has had some decent MTT success. Ive been watching Kyle for a min. now and he's smart but he plays the same room over and over and over so his channel grows very slowly. Check out Aero Annovations. He plays out of Vegas and is the real deal. Id say he's better than 3/4 of this list. Bluffalo Sam is also up there. Most entertaining is Corey Eyring.

The hand you lost with pocket queens did you think for a second that with 2 opponents that one of them might have a 9 or an over pair ?
@cardsandcapitalАй бұрын
The 9 was a possibility, but the over pairs are raising preflop almost every time so that likelihood is extremely small. If they have quads then so be it. They are going to have smaller pocket pairs way more often.

Even raising the flop with just a gutshot when the board is not paired is very dangerous what you did was complete stupidity.

watched 2 minutes and cut it off not watching further to see if he clarifies, but I will agree that there seems to be truth in the notion that many vloggers are well diversified, and that their poker style itself isn't super sustainable as a career (rampage being the most obvious example) however, his speculation on no low stakes pros existing is patently false. i know this from my own experience and many friends and associates the one commenter speaking on cost of living in CA and LV is much closer in terms of the downsides. but there are absolutely quite a few people making six figures in cash games with buyins over $1k. it's possible to do in $500 buyin games if you play around 2k hrs/year, but the number who do that is obviously exceedingly small

I have loved and played the game profitably for years. I have always toyed with the idea of going “pro”. One year I decided that while I was at the WSOP, I would grind the daily deep stack tournaments to give my bankroll the biggest chance to hit and build. Not only is it stressful and difficult but it also tends to be very tedious and boring for most of the time that you are grinding.

making $50k/yr in CA or Vegas is not something one can "live on". health insurance is ignored by singles. if one has a mate that is employed with an income that pays the bills.......different story. i am 75 and have made over $30/hr playing live 1/2 for 15 years........key is GAME SELECTION. true if i "had to" play for a living things would be different. for me, if a game is not great and there are no great games available to change to, i simply go home. i mostly play late at night and most of the time, the games are GREAT. there are so many tilted, drunk degens playing these games, it is unreal. having a huge bankroll also helps. love your videos and that you keep it real.

@cardsandcapital2 ай бұрын
We talked about some of this in the live stream and he said something to the effect that if you’re too proud to step down for the highest win rate, then you’re hurting your bottom line. I think instead, he would say something to the effect that $50k per year is something you can live on if you are willing to accept a very low standard of living. To your point, that 50k doesn’t include any benefits, and raising a family on that alone is extremely difficult and not as fantastic as it is portrayed. I think you would probably agree on most things.
@paulmaier63052 ай бұрын
@@cardsandcapital participating in ANYTHING with variance when your living standards are in jeopardy is NOT PLEASANT and surely most people would not want that. too much FREE information has turned the big fish into minnows. raising a family as a mid stakes poker pro is INSANE. when there are not enough players that play worse than you, any game is not beatable. that goes for playing the markets as well.

It's way easier against a standard opponent. This is the same guy that is playing 95s and 43o preflop for any price. He is both more capable of having a hand that shouldn't be in there, and of over valuing it. The price is insane, but it's a tougher decision vs a wild card. What hand turns into a bluff here and also chooses a tiny size for a bluff when the flush comes in?
