I think the reason there was all Ethiopians has nothing to do with Kenya or Uganda not having the physical talent but it boils down to the social networking the Ethiopians have for each other not that the Kenyans or Ugandans are not as social as a group but the Ethiopians are perhaps more supportive of each other not just when they are winning but even when things are not as great That is just my theory

I'm 64 and kind of discovered by accident that running alone wasn't really enough to do the job. I don't do weights beyond the one's that help the quads and knees. The main bulk of training I do on a bike and indoor trainer. Changed running style after 30 years of 'as it came out'. Average stride length has gone from about 1.1 m to 1.4. I visualise how the man here runs. Protein in the diet more important than fuel. Can't build muscle with carbs. Averaged two hours/day since mid 2021. Apart from a high speed crash on the bike, I can only remember one injury since 2013. That was down to a training error. Mobility, hydration and protein. Those are the main things. Running fuel food gets eaten anyway.

He's actually the first runner in history to run both sub 1.45 in 800 m and sub 27 in 10000 m, which he did already last year. So actually you should've had heard of him. He was the favorite to win EC 1000 m in Rome last year but failed the last 80 m and finished 4th

Very bad comment, didn' know the Swedish runner which was running last year very strong in track race, and you never even mentioned the Swiss runner, Dominic Lobalu which is one of the best runners in the world.😛

At the end of this video You said that in the top ten there are a lot of kenyans and Ethiopians and a Greek, is not a Greek is an Uruguaian ( Santiago Catrofe from Uruguay 8th posición) . You must learn the countries flaws.

I agree, if it works for him then so be it. But if you are running a 150 miles a week, even superman would need to get proper rest. I wish Bekele all the best in his future races !

Like most runners, he probably has the mindset that the more you do the better. Even if the workloads are light, by going to the gym five times a week, his coach realizes this is building his mental confidence as well.

If it works for him at injury prevention then good luck to him. I remember Bekele at his marathon debut in Paris 2014 where he was pointing to his glutes to express the pain at that area. As long as it positively affects his performance then he should continue.

“British champion tells Kenyans to hurry up - you will not see said British champion for the remainder of this video.” 😂 Joker made himself his own “be careful what you wish for” meme. It’s crazy to me that some folk will actually get mad at you for not beating them worse. I had an ex sister in law and her husband get super heated at me because my partner and I didn’t win by more points in a spades game. I’m like, you mad because you didn’t lose worse? How? Why? Tf?

This video brings back memories of when I was in High School and College and preparing for the upcoming cross country season during the summer months. I would do a long run of 10 miles and try to do a negative split for the last 5 miles of the run. Another type of run would be mile repeats starting the summer off with 4 or 5 mile repeats once a week and increase it to 9 mile repeats before the end of the summer. And, I always ran rolling hills at my local golf course to get ready for the cross country season. I only wish I was young again and could start my running career over again from scratch. It was a fun time in my life. Thanks for making the video!
