I have some Andis cordless clippers ,the blade gets too hot to use within minutes. I’ve used clippers for 50 years so I’m pretty competent with this style blade. What am I doing wrong? I don’t see anywhere to lubricate the clippers themselves.

What happened? Sometimes, with these housings, I squeeze them together while tightening the screws. Also, if the battery or motor is wiggly in there, add some foam to pad it against the housing.

@SummitSharpening
@SummitSharpening 4 ай бұрын
Hey! I would try a new Hinge Assembly. That's the hinge and the lock. The springs on the hinge could be bad. When the blades get stuck on like that, push down on the blade as if you're doing the opposite of what you want. That should release the blades until you get the new hinge and lock!

@SummitSharpening

Hey Angelo, That is not normal. The sharpener is either using a very rough grit, or they are not properly cleaning the blades after sharpening. Make sure they're always oiled as well. Thanks!

Can you show it being run with some wide blades and a standard size 5/8 blade (not toe blade)? That's where I've noticed things start to get loud and vibrate more, especially the longer wide blades when they hit the blade drive cover plate. I know it's too soon to tell but I'd like to know how it holds up to daily wide blade use. I rarely run the standard size anymore. Also, it looks like the blade drive is the same as their other models, like the ZR's and corded 5 speeds; is it? Thanks!
@SummitSharpening
@SummitSharpening 5 ай бұрын
Hey! Yes, the heavier the blades, the louder it can get. With cordless and wide blades we need to oil very often (every 15 minutes) and that will prevent the noise 😊 I'll make a video explaining this more thoroughly! Andis clippers are probably the most quiet because of their blade drive design 🤗

I found a very small black hook like piece that appeared to have broken off of a part. I think it might be from the black piece you reattached to those springs.
