Have done a few front subframes on B5.5 Passats. Have always used poly bushes though. The roads where I live are probably too rough for aluminium ones. The tool to remove the bushes is easy to make and is a lot easier than trying to cut them out.

Sweet, I’m thinking with western PA roads I may do the same. I’ll have to check out the tool thanks!

Hi. Do you have a list of parts that you used for a manual swap?
Very similar to this but you need a6 front axels and you don’t need to change the rear diff

How long did it take for each corner? I replaced all kinds of stuff on my brakes (big brake kit, rear drum conversion to disc and added a manual proportioning valve and I bled for about 10 min per corner and I still have spongy brake.
@sreed_16 күн бұрын
It took forever and a few cycles

@ ok maybe I need to bleed much longer. Thanks.

Love the S4 content! Going through the same process right now, and one of the most helpful tools during the teardown process was actually an ultrasonic cleaner a friend let me borrow. It’s large enough to fit the valve covers. Fill it with a diluted mixture of the degreaser/cleaner of your choice and just add parts in as you pull em off. In about 10-20 minutes they come out looking almost new.

I always have trouble with these one man bleeders. Never tried this one before but I have used the hand pump harbor freight one it kinda worked but I ended up doing the two man process ya a pedal pumper and valve opener. I live alone and I don’t like having to bug n beg someone to help me next time I might try this one out seems better than the one i tried from HB and I tried a $20 amazon one it’s sucked let more air in then it pulled out

since 2005, still own an original silver b5s4 6spd sport edition, alcantara interior and stock k03s. For me, it is the perfect all around wolf in sheep's clothing and also super analog, so no e-assists.

Good afternoon man, i am currently in this same swap, what flywheel/clutch kit did you order to match up your v8 to the 01e? i thought the 2.7 would fit my v8AWN but it doesnt line up.

@@sreed_ Youre the man i enjoyed watching your videos. tons of knowledge! i have one more question, did you have to use a Crank to flywheel spacer for that set up? a problem i am having is my current AUTO spacer isnt the right size.. as you know the 6speed b5s4 is hard to find as it is, and i think i need a stock spacer off that car. What are your thought? anway have a great day.. i appreciate you responding to me on a old ass video.. lol

Do your parts in a cardboard box or Rubbermaid type storage container and reuse the media. You can buy larger bags of silica or walnut shells for much less per pound.
