Just stumbled across your channel and viewed video because of "Helping Another Cyclist". I am 75 and have rode thousands of miles, long distance touring and regular extended day rides. You have a very nice bike, looks lite, short wheel base, steep frame/fork angles and likely low profile-high pressure tires. Generally speaking, a performance machine, quick handling with almost immediate input of road conditions and as well a response to a riders reaction. A bike like yours generally suggest its owner is comfortable financially and likely has a premium health care supplement in addition to Medicare. To each is own, but I am trying to 'Help' another cyclist. Removing one hand from the bar to extend a selfie stick could mark the beginning of your last ride. Don't want to be a jerk, but our bones don't re-bond like they use to, even with good health insurance. Just my opinion. Take care.

@@hymanlemons8385 The entrance to the San Jacinto Bayou Greenway that I took on the way back doesn't have an address but riding east on Hamblen Road the white fence on the right is across the street from a former flea market. The next street is Burning Tree. You can see the greenway entrance between two yellow gates that are partially closed. I hope that helps.

Rick, splendid narration and video work on your 100K! Really enjoyed viewing. I did the 75 on my Canyon Aeroad - this was 4th HH100, 2nd on the 1-year old Aeroad. The last 3 years I was pretty exhausted at race finish, but this time concentrated on my pacing and temperature control (with water-soaked sythetic towels), and those combined made a huge difference, not tapped-out at the finish. I'm nearly 69, and would love to have a century under my belt, but knew I just didn't have 100 miles in me, lol. A great ride today, even with the persistent wind and the heat. Gotta try the Delta sometime, although I'll bet it was $$$. Back to Ft. Worth Sunday, keep the cool videos coming!

How do you like your Helix? I just ordered one. What group did you get? Is your free hub loud or is it just the recording?
@RickAnkrum3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and asking. I like the Helix. Since I bought it I added another bike to my fleet and that bumped the Helix down to #3 on my preference list: #1 Cervelo Caledonia, #2 Canyon Endurace CF7, #4 Trek Marlin 8 MTB. I got the SRAM Rival AXS etap group which I have on the Cervelo and Canyon. I really like electronic shifting. I added the Rival Power Meter crankarm and ICAN Cycling Alpha 46 carbon wheels. The freewheel is noisy but I tune it out now. I have the same wheels on the Cervelo and Canyon. The Helix feels harsh when I ride over rough roads compared to the carbon framed Cervelo and Canyon. There is a street with about 100 feet of rough cobbles that I use to compare the road absorption. The Helix weighs about 4 pounds more than those bikes too. The harsh ride and extra weight are the reasons it is #3. I've put 4246 miles on it. I wanted to experience a titanium frame bike. I also owned a Lynskey R300 with Ultegra mechanical groupset. I sold it and bought the Helix. Enjoy your new bike. Let know what you think of the Helix.
