What the sequel to "Alien: Romulus" be about is an exploration of the Remus module that wasn't explored of which maybe since the movie wasn't truly canon, then something way worst than what was explored in the Romulus module could've been in there.

If I had a nickel for every time the alien franchise introduced an alien-human hybrid in the film universe I would have 2 nickels… which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

If the Covenant and Paradise scripts were so similar what was the actual point of the well documented course correction Fox insisted on?? While I've never read the script for Paradise Lost, from what I've read about it, the story is very different from Covenant and followed David and Shaw to the Engineers home world where the Juggernaut had crashed, only to discover that the Engineer's had already been wiped out by a new creature they created. What happens to David and Shaw is a mystery for a while, the last we see of them they manage to send out a signal for help. Then the scene changes to a new ship arriving in the system and landing on the planet. There's no mention of the Covenant, the crew are kind of similar but there's no Walter or other android, and this time its a rescue ship 10 years later. While some elements of Paradise have made it into the movie from here on, such as David copying what the Engineer's had done, and he still kills Shaw to facilitate his experiment, David is much more mysterious and the crew of the rescue ship never seem to know he's an android until its too late. The crew then find David and the rest of the story unfolds similar to Covenant. We also see David's experiment with Shaw (the new Queen perhaps, its very vague) then something goes wrong and all hell breaks loose. The final act is a race against time to get off the planet with more aliens around. Eventually they get clear but David still manages to bring something from his experiment onto the rescue ship, just like in Covenant, and there the story ends.

I think it would be neat if Yvaga was the colony that David set up. Maybe since he was done with the spore element of the Xenomorph's evolution he decided to keep the planet untouched by their DNA just in case he wanted to bring plants or wildlife up to the Covenant to experiment on them in a controlled environment. He lets some of the population land on the planet and establish an actual colony with him as a sort of king to them (he could be pretending he's Walter, who was indented to be their leader anyways). I could see some bizarre culture completely removed from past human cultures being formed with David in control. Maybe they worship him almost like how the Engineers worshipped the Xenomorph and when someone disobeys they're sent up to the Covenant to be experimented on. But generally since they're somewhat disconnected from the rest of the galaxy it's somewhat of a space Amish situation. Occasionally David allows some people from off world to move in with them because he sees the benefit in a diverse set of DNA to experiment on. But he never allows other androids because he fears that they may figure his plot out, or have orders from WY to dismantle his colony. Almost like the traditionalists seen in Midsommar. To the people living in the low tech capitalist hellhole on the outside world these colonists living in peace with nature seem like a paradise. But you live with them long enough and you start to see the cracks in their colony and realize how bad things are. Maybe David has even changed his mind too. He might have encountered some new characters that changed his perspective on humanity leading him to abandon his original plan of sending an Engineer ship full of eggs around the colonies to wipe out humanity. So he crashes the ship on LV-426 and sets up a warning signal on it. Instead of his genocide plan he decides to take a more natural approach and create Xenos on Yvaga and let them humanity naturally encounter and spread them. Just so over a couple of centuries he can see which race ends up worthy of surviving the fight.

Cool video. I actually learned about the cancelled sequel from dragoncurve channel, but still fun to watch nevertheless Anyways I’ll be the first here to actually step up and say- King Kong won. No way to change that. The dual ending myth was debunked long ago, and even if Tomoyuki Tanaka thought it’s a tie, Toho, the company who hired him, claims it’s a W on their website. So it’s a question of which authority you choose to follow And even from narrative standpoint it makes sense- back then King Kong was way more popular and the “good guy” while Godzilla was still the villain. For alien Romulus sequel, given how easy and dangerous it is to kill off both Rain and Andy, I would say just let both of them live a peaceful life after what they have been through, and focus on making another alien Romulus prequel instead where fans of the franchise get to see every protagonist die and what happened to the station would be the right direction, just in my opinion.

I hope this TV show is not just a bunch of fast dark, blurry video clips, references to the films, panning over pictures of things in jars, long boring conversations and diversity characters. If it's like that, I will still watch it out of loyalty to the franchise, but just fast forward through most of it.

I wouldn’t mind getting both a Romulus sequel and Covenant sequel, although ultimately, I want the Neil Blomkamp Aliens legacy sequel. Hopefully we will get all three, who knows.

We need an Avatar movie, but for Engineers and their battle with Xenos. A true alien film. No dumb human protagonist to hog all the screen time. David, I’m talking to you.

The time it’s set is a little too tight for the show to really do it’s own thing without messing up the lore of the films.. they should have set it after Alien3 time line then it gives them 200 years to mess about with and possibly wreck the earth as hinted at in Alien Resurrection..

I'd rather another Scott film than another Alvarez film. Romulus was beautiful, but I didn't feel any dread. That glimpse of the xeno from Alien Earth looks far creepier than anything we've seen in Covenant or Romulus, in my opinion. I just want to be afraid of it again.

Hoping the show ends up being good but it sounds a bit weird. Still though, getting the covenant sequel finally and romulus 2 have me excited. David's xeno's i guess are an offshoot now called the pretomorph, not the xx121. I'm guessing its more of an evolved form of the neomorph based off the deacon or whatever the engineers made on lv223 since we never saw it.

Thanks for the video, as always. I am definitely having a hard time wrapping my head around the timeline now, and what's more is that I am not sure if I even LIKE the idea of the Nostromo Crew NOT being the first. Partly because (and please correct me if I'm wrong here) it would mean that "The Company" would already have known and then the context for any communications back and forth in Alien (1979) would change? Or did they only have exchanges with MUTHR? I can't remember now.
