Thanks for that. Is there an electric outboard that will get the Discovery 3.3 up on the plane? I guess it would need 6kW......

Important to remember why one need the power. Unless you aim racing, it is about having capacity to deal with tidal waters, unexpected current and wind, ability to move you out from potentially dangerous situation. Or you may need speed to save time if want to reach far from the ramp...

"Testing...props" but no results or recommendations in terms of 'hole shot', grip/cavitation, rpm reduction at mid-range planing speeds, or top speed ? That would have been useful.

Well that answered several important questions. Are they stable ? Yes. Can they really handle waves ? Yes. Are they strong ? Seems so. Do they perform well, even with modest outboard HP ? Looks like it. Great demo.

So useful to know that the basket can fall off. I’ll know to hold it down like you did now. That will potentially save me a massive headache trying to relocate it 💥

Running one with 5hp 2stroke. 12knts with 2 adults ie 160kg onboard. Still running it on 25:1 mixture so may improve. No problem getting on plane but takes while to max out at 12knts. Currently running factory 8" prop, suspect 7" would better match at these weights.

Nice work. If you cut the handle on your brush nice and short it makes applying the glue inside the tubes a little easier, especially for smaller openings

Great video. We have a 4m Discovery with an ePropultion Spirit 1 and it is perfect. We get around 7km/hour on flat water with 4 people and 2 big fat labradors.

I have to ask , while the boat is inflated isnt the air still coming out of the hole in the boat ?? Doesn't this mess up the fixing of the patch ?? I thought the boat would need to be deflated so there was no air coming out ??
@TRUEKITINFLATABLES
@TRUEKITINFLATABLES Ай бұрын
Yes, great point. If it is a substantial leak, then it should be deflated. For very minor leaks its not necessarily needed, however for the best results we do recommend deflating it so no air can affect the repair.

OK, well the main question that was not even addressed at all is... how do you replace the entire valve (including the new "basket")? It's all very well showing a cut open piece of the boat but that's not what people have. Are these valves originally put into the boats before the boat is glued together? If so do you have to cut the boat open to change the whole thing? What you seem to be assuming is that you need to leave the old basket in the boat and just replace the new valve and cap parts, in which case what;'s the point in buying the whole thing? I need to change two of mine and I'm just hoping the old baskets are still ok.
