I believe we watched the game on a 21” TV. It Didn’t matter. Still the 2nd-best road victory ever for our program. We all heard for weeks how NU couldn’t hang with speedy, pass-happy FU, or the genius of Spurrier. Hah! That era of Osborn’s tenure matched only by the peak Saban years at Alabama.

The grass really hampered Nebraska...I mean they only put up 62. They should've dropped 80+.

Neil Smith has become my friend through social media. He is definitely a class act. You won't meet a finer gentleman. He was a tremendous player. I am a self-employed sports journalist. Some of my friends and I are working on getting him inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame. That is where he truly belongs. I am hoping that someday it will become a reality.

Florida had a really bad gameplan for this game. Nothing was done to take the sting out of Nebraska's upfield rush. The 4-4 and the 4-3 flex are terrible defenses to use against Nebraska. Trap plays were given away. The over pursuit of Florida made the option even more effective.

I'm a huge Buckeye fan, but Nebraska's 94 and 95 championship teams were the most cohesive, powerful and fast squads ever put together. Those were special teams. I watch those games when I was a kid and it was Nebraska who I was cheering for, but not sure why. Maybe since it's the same architect who designed both of our football stadiums, lol. B Ever since, Nebraska is my second favorite team, followed by USC, Penn State in Washington. Those two and see wins by NU made me fall in love with college football. Nebraska's facilities are second to none and with all the wild West craziness of NIL and the portal, college football needs Nebraska back in the top 5 or 10 consistently every year. It's good for college football.

Even back with Nebraska was dominating football two things never changed: 1)The national media always disrespected Nebraska and 2) The National media talking heads were more full of Shvt than a Nebraska stock yard.

Tom Osborne is the greatest coach of our generation. He will always be the gold standard. When I grew up, Devaney was literally Bob The Builder... who brought Nebraska back to prominence. But just when I was getting into it as an 8 year old fan and was understanding of what Nebraska football was about, Coach Devaney retired. I felt cheated in a way. I believe Tom and Frank Solich are the bridge to that era and we need to get as much knowledge from those gentlemen about the past as we can. It would be nice to have those two and the older men still alive from those staffs around and have a forum about some insight of what went on in that era.
