I just saw someone today mention to not topstitch through the lining, but didn't mention why not. Thank you for explaining in detail why we shouldn't. I couldn't understand why my seams were so bulky and didn't know how to fix it. Your tutorials are excellent 👌

I made sure to grab your free pattern (TY). I LOVE your fabric design!! I have a Tardis blanket hanging up in my room. And I was lucky enough to meet David Tennant when he was filming a show locally. Thank you for the tutorial and I think I may use it to store my grocery tote bags that I've sewn (our stores stopped giving out plastic bags years ago now). This bag will definitely come in handy!

I seriously love the feel of the waterproof cotton but my machine doesn't. 😭😭. I love the seaglass colorway also. I think I used Fern vinyl color with it. Do you have a "Fern" green? 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

@@LaurenMormino it's like tension shock. I used it as the lining of the pouch and as soon as I started sewing on it, there was looping. I made a clean up clutch using it also, and couldn't get the tension right either for that project. It's like I have to turn up my tension all the way, like when I sew on TPU. It was a little better with a micro tex larger size needle but still not 100%.😭

I just purchased this pattern and the cut video was helpful. My "workspace" is part of a dining room table, so I always seem to make a mistake somewhere cutting my patterns out. I have a rotary cutter, but the mat is quite tiny. I am looking forward to making this bag.

Can you tell me how waterproof is that fabric? I am making a scooter cover and it's kind of under a deck cover but in winter, it probably takes a rain hit, for sure

I’m looking to add a recessed zipper to a tote bag that doesn’t include it. Is the top lining panel part of the original pattern? If not, do I need to cut my lining shorter?

You could just cut to size and split it where you’d like the zipper to be and use a 1/4” SA

How do you plan on transporting this machine? It would be very complicated to move a table and machine versus something designed to be portable, like the Sailrite LSZ walking foot machines (or something similar.)
