For large bags I prefer 1/2” & for smaller bags I prefer 3/8 seam allowance.

my preferred seam allowance depends (as do most of answers to just about any question, because autistic 🤪😂). if it's a complicated pattern, i prefer the margin for error with a larger seam allowance. but then if i'm using really spendy, limited quantity materials, the smaller the better. my least favourite is when someone comes out with a new pattern that is all sorts of complicated and there's a 1/4" seam allowance. 😂😂😂😐 no.
