Hi, I like the conciseness and informativeness of your content. I recently got the chance to enter the final interview loop with Amazon. I requested to split my interview over two days and gave my availability for two weeks from now so I can have time to practice. However, I’m worried that scheduling it two weeks out might be too far away. What do you think-is it reasonable to set the date 2 or even 3 weeks later?

Thanks so much for your tips, I used them all of them, unfortunately after panel interviews they wished me good look and success. But after 4 days they said, no, we don't want u :(. Context: They were a bit rude in the interview they did wrong it supposed they should not ask me directly about Amazon principles, but they did, the 2/4 they asked me like answer my question with these two principles... I felt that I performed well in the interview, especially with my English communication, despite the interviewers mainly speaking Spanish. However, their superior attitude and unprofessional gestures in response to my experience were disappointing. I used the STAR method to provide clear examples, but they didn’t seem to understand or appreciate them, insisting I hadn’t used the exact wording of an Amazon principle. I even gave another example to explain how I applied the principle, but their reactions made it seem like they weren’t fully engaged. Given their six years of experience at Amazon, I expected a more professional approach.

Hello, I am in a similar situation. I interviewed for Product Manager and had full interview & mini loop but the recruiter mentioned that the team feels that I am more a program manager vs product manager and that they want to know if I am ok if they can find a fit. I dont have specifics of why they thought so, what signals I didnt provide and how can i convey that i do not want the program manager shift and would only like to contine the current career track. What happens with this decision?

There’s nothing you can do about it. You can decline the offer to help you find a Prog Manager role and continue to apply for Product Manager roles. Another team may feel differently

Thanks again and again for highlighting all the nuances in the Amazon interview process. As it is very evident, things are not as black and white as one would expect. Just wondering if someone would have fallen under no hire-no recycle, should not be the cooling period thing be detailed out to him. In my understanding are the below the only three outcomes of a loop- a) Hire and offer b) No hire- recycle c) No hire- cooling period As a candidate, understanding the last 2 options must be tricky. How exactly do I know whether I have been recycled or not? What do you make out of the below message after the panel interview I was not selected. e.g. Your skills and experience are valuable, and we encourage you to stay in contact for future openings. Your profile will remain active in our database, and with your consent, we may reach out for opportunities that align with your skill set. Please keep an eye on our careers page for future job postings. My second question is b) When I apply for other roles now, do the other recruiters/hiring managers get to know that I have been recycled based on the previous panel/loop. Otherwise, I am just like another applicant and have no advantage.

There’s no mandatory. You’re just trying to have a conversation with someone. In my experience most candidates look at the screen. That’s fine.

Hello Gigi, thank you for the knowledge you are providing us. I have had a poor experience with the HM, she did not ask any LP question, instead asked normal questions of the day to day task and the most innovative solution I have implemented and that's it, no any other questions, she had her camera off, I thought I did great since the questions were simple and I have showed all my skills and innovations done, through STAR method, still was rejected, it was for a Senior PM role, I only received this email "Thank you for speaking with us about the position...After careful consideration, we have decided not to progress with your application for this role. While we're unable to provide additional feedback or information about this decision, we would like to keep in touch regarding future job opportunities. Thanks again for your interest in working at Amazon." Nothing after, no any email or call. Does this mean I can keep applying? I have already applied for two other roles and I can see them clearly on the job board as submitted. Appreciate your help, it was a tough month and a half were I passed the recruited phone screen, online assessment, and failed the HM still not sure why, most prob she did not properly understand my skills and experience.

For the Sr Program Manager (Non- Tech) role, does the interviewer asks specifically about the techncial questions like How I Used Excel VBA and Macros or linear Programming Algorithms that I have used in my previous projects? Like specifically above the coding stuff

No hire. No Bar Raiser would force a HM to take someone they don’t want. That would be horrible for everyone involved. The BR might pre-approve them for hire at that level- but the candidate would have to apply for other roles

while providing the response in STAR format, is it fine to explicility mention the leadership principle that I have used in my action part ? example: "This experience highlights my alignment with Amazon’s leadership principles of Invent and Simplify" OR " This aligns with Dive Deep, as I used detailed data analysis to gain insights"

No don’t quote the LP. Your interviewer understands enough about the leadership principles to identify which one your story demonstrates. They don’t need you to point it out to them.

GG, with all due respect to your experience, I find it rather naive to think that a delay in response after the 5-business-day deadline has no relation to the outcome. It's evident that the HR team's energy and priority will be focused on notifying the candidates who passed and will receive an offer, rather than those who didn't make it. If HR has to choose between the two, they will undoubtedly concentrate on the candidates who were successful.

You weren’t paying attention to the words spoken in the video. The video says sometimes the 5 day commitment for having the debrief fails. There is nothing for Recruiters to notify if the debrief hasn’t actually happened yet.

Hello, 3 days after my Amazon LOOP interview, I received an Email from the recruiter congratulating me on the positive feedback for my interview, but unfortunately unable to offer me the position because someone else filled the position. I noticed that the position was no longer available even before my LOOP. They said that they will put me in the bench pool and that if available position comes, they will contact all the people in the bench pool before making the position public. I am worried, hope they will remember to get back to me? I practiced really so hard for this LOOP

Ahh, I was part of a pool of roles. I originally applied to a Front-End Engineer I role but they swapped me to a Front-End Engineer II role before the final round of 5 interviews. Just got a "Rate your Recruiting Process" email 2 weeks after my 1 hour phone interview, which is a little concerning but so far I still have the 5 interviews scheduled 2 weeks from now.

@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 The final level (LOOP). 3days after the final interview, The recruiter contacted me and congratulated me, then told me that the interviewers gave positive feedback but the particular position has been filled even before my final interview was concluded, that I will be placed on the "bench pool" and will be fixed immediately another vacant position comes out and I don't need to have another interview. I really don't understand. This is the first time I heard about BENCH POOL after passing job interview. Like how long does the bench pool last on average before a new position comes out? I hope I don't get ghosted 😢

I got a message from the recruiter congratulating me on getting positive reviews from the interviewers but the position has been filled by someone else. She said that I will be placed on the bench pool for one year and will be contacted immediately another vacancy opens and I don't need to have another interview. Is this a polite rejection? Should I be hopeful? This is the 7th day after receiving the message.

Hi. I've been watching your video for interview preparation and recently finished the loop at Amazon. The recruiter got back to me saying the entire team was inclined and I'm in the offer ready stage. However, the position I applied for was filled by an internal candidate before my debrief. The recruiter said he doesn't have any role open on his hand to fill me in but he'll reach out to other hiring managers, and encouraged me to find similar roles I would be intersted in. I wonder if you are familiar with this situation, and if there's anything else I need to do other than contacting my recruiter for other similar positions. Thanks again for the great content!
