Good question, I’m not sure if you can extract the samples, as the file is an .XL7 bank. Perhaps you could do it with the ModX/Montage editor, which is how I put these together. Though I haven’t used it in a while, so can’t really remember.

Yes still using the Mackie, very happy with it. Though these days I only use it as an analog mixer, not the interface part. It did work well for that, though I recall that support for later operating systems (after Windows 7) was poor, so you would want to look into that.

It’s the newer version (though it must be getting close to 10 years old now). It has mini keys though.

That preset uses the “Mod Factory” algorithm, which isn’t included in the plugin unfortunately.

@@hansikrusche5151 . You might get close with experimenting, but it would be hard to get it the same. On the H3000 hardware, each preset has a different set of parameters to tweak, which is unlike other effect units. In the H3000 manual, here is a brief description of what is going on with this preset: “Long delays with thickener that cut their feedback with next input signal, cleaning up the wash of delays.”

I think you have to manually add the patches you want into the Live sets, they don’t go there automatically.

Wow, I never realised how much it sounded like Rockerfeller Skank, I love that part of the track. I did that by manually slowing down the speed in real time using the big wheel. It’s possible they used a H3000, or maybe there’s other samplers at the time that could do this trick. I think he used Akai’s back then?

Thanks! Yes all drums and percussion is the TR8. I recommend getting the add on kits if it doesn’t already have it, (606 & 707), they take it to another level.

Having a quick look at the specs, it appears the Zed 24 only sends and receives stereo, (and maybe 2 aux?) . The Mackie sends and receives 16 channels, so you wouldn’t be able to do a full mix like this on the Zed.

@@thebrightsideok brother i am a neewbie on this ableton and always wanted to mix tracks on a mixer from ableton same way you do. I have a chose between a mackie 1640i and a zed r16 Which one would you say is best as far as reliability and support from Mac? I run an old macbook pro 2012 jacked up to the Gill and running Last years operating system, I also have a PC. I need something cheap in order to learn on it. But basicaly what you did in the video but with a hybrid mixer and kind off an analog sound. I hate digital.

@@mikedubz5576 Both are firewire mixers, which is kind of older technology these days. Mackie were terrible with their support with the 1640i, they basically stopped upgrading the drivers which meant you would have problems on newer computers. Not sure about Zed support. I haven’t looked at hybrid mixers recently, but there are probably some good usb options now which would be a better choice. Alternatively, maybe use an interface with lots of outputs to go directly into a pure analog mixer. There’s lots of options these days.

@@thebrightsideok i guess ill Just get an analogue mixer and my rme soundcard Will do the rest. Best advice yet. Is the mackie 1640 reliable as a mixer i found one for like 500 canadian or the vlz 16 channel for 350 cad is good enough.

@@mikedubz5576 I think the VLZ series is more for live use. My 1640 has been super reliable, no problems. But if you’re just after an analog mixer, there are hundreds out there, new and used. I also use RME soundcards and converters, they are excellent!
