Here is a demo of my favourite piece of gear.
This was actually done on a H3500, which is a H3000 with the optional sampling board.
Best to listen in between the speakers, or on headphones, to hear the large stereo image that the H3000 produces.

You have to be somewhat careful when you use the H3000 in the studio back in the old days. You can spend hours and hours just experimenting with it, which may not sound like a bad idea, but when you are paying $300/hr for studio time, it gets really expensive, really quick.

Wow, I never realised how much it sounded like Rockerfeller Skank, I love that part of the track. I did that by manually slowing down the speed in real time using the big wheel. It’s possible they used a H3000, or maybe there’s other samplers at the time that could do this trick. I think he used Akai’s back then?

thebrightsideok yes but only 2 combo Jack’s so that leaves me no 1/4” HiZ guitar input for guitar. so for a stereo external Eventide wouldn’t I be using both XLR ins on the Apollo?
@thebrightsideok
@thebrightsideok 5 жыл бұрын
I think the Apollo has 2 rear XLR’s and the Hi-z input on the front. You should be able to switch between them? You definitely want to go stereo out from the H3000, the stereo image is a big feature. Ideally you also want to go stereo in too, (also XLR). There are several stereo algorithms, so left and right input works better. Even a small mixer would do the job.

Is the Chorus Wash Dual Preset from 2:10 achievable with the eventide h3000 vst plugin???

@thebrightsideok
@thebrightsideok Жыл бұрын
@@hansikrusche5151 . You might get close with experimenting, but it would be hard to get it the same. On the H3000 hardware, each preset has a different set of parameters to tweak, which is unlike other effect units. In the H3000 manual, here is a brief description of what is going on with this preset: “Long delays with thickener that cut their feedback with next input signal, cleaning up the wash of delays.”

Apart from the timeshifted beat, which ones are only possible using the sampler board/H3500?
@thebrightsideok

The sampling board was only used with time stretching the drum loop and the fart. The sampler itself is pretty basic editing wise. It only really does pitch shifting and time stretching. But it does sound great.

@thebrightsideok

Hi Martin, yes these are factory presets which have been edited to suit the sound used. I also have the H3000 plugin, unfortunately it only has a few of the original algorithms from the hardware, so recreating most of these presets is impossible.

thebrightsideok hello why does this peace of gear cost so much ? Is it strictly for a professional studio ?
@thebrightsideok
@thebrightsideok 5 жыл бұрын
It is a high end and very complex machine which would have cost a lot to develope and produce, which is why it is so expensive. When new, they were almost 5 times the price than they currently sell for. Though they were designed for professional studios, many people now have them in their home studios (like me!)

The Eclipse actually has more DSP power, so can do most of this and more. But nothing beats the H3000 for mojo, due to the pre amps, converters and analog filtering.

They are excellent examples of Eclipse programming but I have found the sound sources he uses too samey for me to justify a purchase. The examples used in this current video are of a wide variety. I would consider saving up for this machine because the demo shows a real depth in pallet not just guitar strums. If you know of any other Eclipse demos please do share as I would love to check them out.

"Guitar strums"! Really? You may consider things more under a musical point of view, which is what people use these machines for... anyway.
