Hi 👋 Aiden. You havent done anything since this video. Thats okay. I'm going to seek for something of Don Cherry 's on your recommendation.

Wow man, your taste in all things music is really great. You remind me of my closest friend growing up who was a Berklee student in jazz composition. He is responsible for 90% of what I still listen to now 30+ years later. Your videos are inspiring for sure.

Good to see you back, nice selection again! I'd just like to mention a few artists that you may or may not know that I think you'd like - Hugh Masekela (The late South African trumpeter who recorded many albums whilst in exile and back in SA) and Sahib Shihab. And on ECM, Don Cherry & Ed Blackwell 'El Corazon'.....good luck with your album from the UK

A totally awesome video Aidan. I’m exactly where you’re at musically when it comes to Don Cherry. He revolutionized free/spiritual/world music jazz. Your pure joy in making this video was really self-evident. If you love his Swedish period music pickup “The Summer House Sessions”. Not to be missed. ☮️ Brother ☮️

Hi Aiden, I recently discovered your channel, and I must say I'm delighted that a youngster like you has such a deep affiliation for Jazz including deep cuts / unknown artists and musicianship appreciation ; excellent stuff. I have a few suggestions for you, in case you haven't heard them, check out Sahib Shihab 'Companionship' and John Surman 'The amazing adventures of Simon Simon'....

May I recommend "Raise Up Off Me", the biography of pianist Hampton Hawes by Don Asher and Hamp Hawes. However, I strongly suggest you don't buy the Thunder's Mouth Press edition , but find instead the earlier edition printed by Da Capo press, where you will find the prose original and not dreadfully 'sanitised' as is the Thunder's Mouth edition, which Hawes would have hated. The book was awarded the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award in the 1970s. It is a fascinating and wholly absorbing read.
