It would be nice to be able to simplify our lives. This is how we could move from surviving to truly living and enjoying life. On the other hand I think that as long as it doesn't become too overwhelming life's challenges are welcome because I think if we always got everything on the plate without a bit of effort at some point things could get pretty boring. We need some degree of difficulty in our lives to evolve as individuals. So I guess I can say that we prevent ourselves from having a simple life. But yes, as you said at the end of the video people with anxiety are overwhelmed by life's challenges, and it is the therapist's job to help them increase their resources and become stronger. So maybe at the end of therapy not life it becomes simpler but they are better prepared to face it.

"Could" is straight forward, and "should" is mainly intended to direct action (e.g. people should look to make their life simpler - which yea, I think a lot of people aren't seriously considering, partly because "it's too complicated"). But I am also looking to see what you think about this.

Certainly! With the level of interplay and correlation between the concepts, one could argue they are functionally equivalent 🙏 Common symptoms of depression are pervasive feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness. There is no telling which comes first, but they always come together.

Denying ideas doesnt make for smart philosophy. This video asserts nothing, but wants to assert itself as intelligent by challenging ideas about identity. It is also very vague.
@Lucemer6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. I respect your opinion, even though I disagree. I think questioning and exploring (in general, but also in this context) identity is a valid way to do philosophy. My main point is that identity can be seen as one’s sense of self, or as a sense of self-coherence, rather than a set of traits or characteristics. If you have any specific points or arguments that would go along with your opinion, please share them.

This is something I've thought about many times, why does nostalgia carry such feelings is it because life was easier or the soul was more innocent less tainted by life and soceity... I love your take because it explains it more deeply than I could. I hope one day you can go even deeper into the topic.

OK, this video was quite simple and exhaustive but I wish you could explain us more about this fact in a longer video: what kinds of nostalgia there are, how do we feel about it(there's not always a grief or sadness), how to get rif of it and etc. Would be really interesting to hear your opinion and thoughts about it :)

That is a great suggestion! As a preliminary thought, I'd suggest that different emotions occur at different stages of processing the experience associated with the object of nostalgia.
