8:21 This animation can also be found in the modkit’s files, and no, its not an unused animation for the stereo, it was possibly an animation for the neighbor cooking on his stove, due to it being called neighbor_cooking or something, also his height doesn’t match the stereo’s height so its not a stereo animation. Also in 9:16 those could be animations for the neighbor handling the toy rifle that went unused

14:18 as a lover of Em. I do think It was a glitch. To get Emily to be worried even love Matt. You don’t really have to fully agree with her with the fight with Jess. You then chose the polite options for her and she has the polite options for Matt. In that way. They both have a really strong bond. I just love them. Emily is one of my favorites to play as. And Matt is great by her side to blend her out.

I feel like the actors not looking like teens in movies or shows at this point is a trope and frankly one I feel like works more than it doesn't as I've seen shows with actors that are actually the age and it feels weird. The reason I feel like having older people play the parts works for me is because I'm already old so fuck it, I can't relate to a teen playing a teen as much as I can relate to an adult playing a teen lmao.

The youtubers like caliber don't explore in the game they just go and play to the end. Some times you can stuff and get more things than normal. It's mostly in other games. WWE games old games like Wolfenstein Doom Friday the 13th the game a bunch if other games from the past and present. That you can actually find if you just explore and go agents everything that you can beat the game and then get every objective. That you need in every game you'll be surprised in what you get.

miles was actually supposed to be raped in the first outlast game but they cut that out because it was too extreme and dark even for outlast, i'm actually very glad they cut that out of the game.. i really would never want to see that.

I'm honestly not entirely sure, but I think I know what most of the unused animations were used or going to be used for: 7:57 : the animation used at the end of alpha 1, where the neighbor slams the coffin lid on you 8:00 : possibly an early version of him getting stunned by the unused fireworks, you using the fear school ability, or once used/planned for an unused mechanic where you would throw a large object (like a chair or TV), and it would knock him over. I also have a threoy that maybe this would have been used when the neighbor slipped on the unused banana item and mechanic, where you could eat a banana and leave the peel on the floor, where either you or the neighbor could slip on it. 8:05 : he was supposed to drive the train in the full-house version of alpha 1, these animations are the only remnant of that. The first animation was most likely him using the train in idle mode, and the second animation was most likely when he was either chasing you or suspicious 8:12 : it's still completely unknown what exactly this would have been used for but my best guess is if you caught him off guard while he was still in idle mode and stunned him with something, he wouldn't move 8:15 : this is used in alpha 2 and alpha 1.5 in the intro where he grabs the player on the couch. 8:17 : from the prototype/announcement trailer where he places the basement key on the dinner table 8:18 : again, unknown where this would have been used for, but my best guess is that like seen in the announcement trailer, him jumping out of a broken has a different animation, so maybe this would have been an alternate faster version of that, but I really don't know 8:20 : again, nobody noes for sure what this is or where it was going to be used, but to me it looks like he's washing dishes while dancing. Either that or it is just him dancing while still holding onto the stero 8:26 : most likely a look around animation for when he finds a distraction in idle mode, or like in the pre alpha, where he can hear sounds and objects being thrown. Either that or its an animation for when he sees that something is in the wrong place, missing, or broken since that seemed to be a mechanic in early builds of the game like the ai rundown build. 8:28 : this one's pretty self explanatory, used in the prototype/announcement trailer, maybe used in pre alpha and alpha 1 but I'm not too sure about that 8:35 : most likely an unused idle task, most likely went unused since its so... random 8:40 : this one is interesting since it is parcaly used in alpha 2. When you get caught in alpha 2, you get thrown out by the neighbor and a door slamming sound plays. Orianly there was supposed animations of him slamming the front door, but for some reason it went unused, there are even still animations of the double doors slamming shut and doors are still under the alpha 2 house in the build 8:42 : I've never seen this one before honestly, but I do think it is an early version of the car crash dream from alpha 1, that or maybe there were plans for more dreams/nightmares to be a thing where each one would have the neighbor go into the basement or around his house to do something strange 8:46 : these are pretty evident to what they would have been used for, honestly I think these are more refiend versions of the used alpha 2 animations and were most likely going to be used in later builds if the sleeping pills and milk weren't randomly cut 8:59 : I think this would have been used for when you successfully hid away from the neighbor and he didn't find you, making him belive that you were no longer in his house and he goes back into idle mode, that or this would have been used for when you stunned him and ran away or hid somewhere without him seeing or hearing you 9:00 pretty obvious to what these would have been used for, just odd to me that all of them weren't used for some strange unknown reason 9:15 I have no idea if this was used at any point, but these are the animations of the neighbor cleaning/mopping the walls or ceiling. no idea why they went unused 9:18 : again, pretty evident to what this would have been used for, unknown why it went unused since even in the final game you can break windows on the upper floors and he will investigate them if he can get up there 9:22 : all of these animations are used in the game, but for some reason these are better versions of them. the only two that earn't ovously early or unused variations of other animations are the "threatens" animation which was most likely supposed to be used for when you crossed the street and he couldn't get you, and the "holding the player" animation is basically used in the act 3 basement when you need to use the fear school power, although it does look pretty different so its possible its just an unused version of when he's trying to catch you while you have the fear school power. | | 'bonus thing I guess' | | 14:10 : one last thing I want to add is that this pre alpha press kit gif is very interesting in that the player uses a baretrap to trap the neighbor like how you can in alpha 1 and beyond, but unlike in alpha 1 its not bugged and he does get locked in place. Also another thing is that in the pre alpha, the neighbor can't break open chair-locked doors like he can in alpha 1, but there is an image of them breaking through the bathroom door. Yet in this gif, he doesn't seem to break through the door.

It’s good to hear Jess and Emily MIGHT have a chance of meeting up with the mines with the remaster, I think it’s a complete missed opportunity that they didn’t have them meet up at all in the first place. Because not only would it repair their relationship and force them to work together, it could show more vulnerability for Jess and force Emily to show concern for Jess, someone who she really hates. It would be good for individual character arcs and just in general make the relationships feel more connected and stronger. Plus it would fill in the gap of why Jess is missing for so long lmao there’s literally a 6 hour gap between her screen time appearances.

20:08 this effect where you wait too long wnd feel dizzy and died is mosty likely a alpha 1 idea from the floors plans there is a floor plans where in the 3rd floor there is a room called (Fighting) or basically called Fighting room there is a text below the fighting room it says "You cant stay in this place for a long time" and basically how i got the floor plans? In Alpha 1 i basically just got it from Reddit and also in act 3 there is a fighting room with the apple shooters and kids toys there is no effect to make you feel dizzy so then in alpha 3 they make an effect that was in alpha 1 and staying for too long will make you feel dizzy so yeah thats how why it does that

I'm here to be the one disagreeing, but not fully. Matt was a wasted character through and through, but it makes sense plot-wise for Jess to be absent for more than half of the game. Why? Well: 1_ There is a lot of scenes where you make choices thinking Jess is dead. It gives the game tension. You go almost 6 chapters thinking "I already killed one of them, I can't kill another" not knowing that she actually isn't dead, and not knowing how you could've saved her either. In short, it helps you remember that you are playing with these people's life. Your choices, no matter how insignificant they seem, matter a lot. 2_ It helps character development. Having played the game myself without knowing anything beforehand, and watching playthroughs of people who played more than once, the way you feel about Mike the first time you play is nothing comparable to when you play knowing that she isn't actually dead. It changes your view a lot. 3_ It keeps the stakes high. There is clearly a reason why Jess is revealed to be alive only after Josh is taken and not before. If it wasn't for Jess' "death", the game would have several points where you know all characters are alive and well, diminishing the idea of danger the game sets upon you. If you think about it, from episode 2 onwards, there is always at least one character who you really don't know if they're alive or not, and Jess' unknown fate helps sink in the feeling.

dynamic pixels should make a hello neighbor game with their original ideas and art style the direction that hello neighbor went in is disappointing to see what it could have been compared to the game that we got the full game is buggy and too kid friendly i would kill to see a revive of the original project with a more creepy tone to it and better AI cause in the full game the neighbor is dumb as hell

I think it's that Until Dawn takes tropes and twists them a bit. Sam being the final girl, for example. The final girl is also usually "the virgin," and she is the only girl who does not have an explicit or outright romantic relationship, and she makes it to the very end and needs to be the last one out to save everyone. That makes Jessica "the whore" (bc her whole thing is based on her sexuality) who is usually the first girl to die. And Matt is both "the jock" (who is supposed to be "dumb") and the black character (who is also usually one of the first to die). I believe I read somewhere that Jessica was always meant to die, but test audiences were upset that she couldn't be saved, so they added her back in. I wonder if Matt had something similar too, and that is why if you make certain choices, you can subvert both tropes and save both Jessica and Matt and they survive together in the end in the ideal game play.
