Where can I get the app for Android? The one on there is no longer supported by the new android software

The wisdom pouring from your father made the conversation so helpful and informative for this layperson. Ive had my share of pain and seen many doctor who dont recognize what this type of pain does to a person as a whole. Im glad to now be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after a long journey and im fortunate to have gotten here addiction free. Just recently i sprained my back again and I recognize that this was going to heal and not at all the same as what i suffered from for years. I had new confidence in my body because of everything it has already healed from and i could see massive improvements day by day so it allowed me to know it just needed time to heal, but surprisingly i found myself waking up so sad and crying one morning as if the pain in the spine triggered a visit from the old depression all over again.

I cannot find The Back Doctor app that is compatible with Android. I would love to use this app, but every time I search for it, I get a message that says "This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android." Is there bot an updated Android version of this app so that people with more updated devices can use it? Help! 😊

I'd love to hear your view on how many orthopedic surgeries that solve someone's pain patterns are actually a placebo effect. My dad had excruciating back pain before his wife died and he was going through a lot of stress with finalizing selling his business as he was retiring at the same time. His wife was, to put it as gently as possible, very emotionally abusive and was extremely ill but totally non-compliant with doctor's instructions which left my dad, frail at 80, with a lot of stress. I suggested to him that his back pain was caused by emotional stress and he noted that whenever he left the house or was able to get to the golf course, it went away and only really was there at home. Nonetheless, he wanted and did get surgery right after his wife died and the pain was 100% gone after that. In a case like this, where the pain was clearly a TMS-type manifestation, it makes me wonder how many procedures are in the end unnecessary. Thanks for sharing this vital information!

I have severe compression at C3/4, along with disc herniation at C5/6 and C6/7. Been to 5 different surgeons and all have WILDLY different recommendation, though all agree that the compression at C3/4 warrants surgery very soon. Most reputable (specializes in cervical spine only, in NYC) is recommending both front and back: C5-7 ACDF, then posterior: C3 laminectomy, C4/5 laminoplasty, C5-7 hardware to support and guarantee fusion. I don't see any reference to this type of approach on the internet. What are your thoughts? (I'm a 50 year old male, in excellent physical shape. Had radiculopathy for a couple of months but it went away, so no pain, but numbness in right arm/fingers remains)

I went thru this program with the help of my physical therapist when recovering from my Micro Discectomy done by Robert Jr. I got to a level 3 doing things like 180 crunches at one time. Dr Robert told me I would need to do these exercises for the rest of my life and he was right. I stopped doing the exercises a few years ago and now I have severe sciatic pain.John Coleman

Schecter is so insightful on this. I’m experiencing TMS to a very painful degree and when I listen to him on videos like this It brings my pain level down and makes me confident that I’ll get through this. I’m in a weekly group coaching with Dan Buglio and so much of this interview rings true!

I’m looking at a possible three level fusion trying to keep it down to two. At least my L5 S1 fused and a ADR for l5-L4.. Is the ADR approved in the USA and do insurance companies cover any of the cost?

I had the C-3 to C-7 fusion done in 2012 at 62, through the neck and I am having pain again in the arms and hands coming from spurs and protruding discs, at C-2 and C-7 and T-1, and do not want to operated on through the neck again, with the pain from swallowing took forever to heal, no I wouldn't want to go through that again?

Well most doctors don’t know either. Take peoples’ $, charge them huge amounts of $, do nothing for them. Maybe if you doctors did your research on NCBI and PubMed like patients do, you would know what you’re doing. Patients have to do their own research because doctors won’t do their jobs.

You mentioned 2 surgeries... What about a lamincectomy? I was diagnosed with cervical stenosis at levels C3-5 and with myelopathy. I am waiting on a second opinion, but the first doctor I spoke with wants to do a posterior laminectomy without a fusion. I am 57, still rather active, and have had 1 bout of radiculopathy months ago, have stiffness and mild pain, weakness and abnormalities on reflex tests- but I do not have urinary, bowel or gait issues. I am worried about this surgery and the recovery, especially since I live alone- what tips/ recommendations do you have?
@impeccablebeats04483 жыл бұрын
thank you for this very informative talk. If dome laminotomy is not enough to decompress C6-7, and a full C7 laminoplasty is needed, how do you prevent kyphosis as the C2-C7 dorsal muscular attachment is cut. Should laminoplasty be abandoned in this case? Doing a fusion at C7T1 and laminoplasty at C7 and above doesnt seem to solve the kyphosis issue at C7 and above as the muscle between C2 and C7 is still cut. Please advise.
@backdoctor3113 жыл бұрын
Agree - I do C3-6 - I will do partial laminectomy of cephalad third of C7, preserving ligaments to C7. If C7-T1 requires decompression than fusion probably better option

Hey Doc do you remember me? The surgery that you did on me left me with a major case of Arachnoiditis and it has progressed so far now I can barely walk. When I do walk it feels like I'm walking on hot broken glass. Imagine if your feet were asleep 24/7 well I don't have to I'm living it. I'm sure karma will come around to visit.

Hi Doctor, thank you for your podcasts.I'd love to see you, but I'm not in USA. My neurosurgeon said that pars surgery on me would fail because I’m over 50. My discs are healthy, a but my 18months old, badly mismanaged, see-through unilateral pars fracture stops me from daily basic functioning. (plus the nerve is involved). Should a screw help with the spine stability even if the bone won’t fuse? I’m terrified of surgeries, yet I simply cannot function with daily living, I can’t even sit for more than 10 minutes. Thank you so much.
