What spanner size did you use for the carburetor nut facing the tin ? i try different size from11-13mm but failed to loose the nut. any special tool ? thanks

I don’t remember the exact size but it should be one of those sizes, yours will likely be different than this one anyways since people are often times replacing parts on these and they use what’s in their garage. Try metric and make sure the heads are not stripped

Wasnt the info I wanted. Helpful. But not what i was looking for unfortunately. I was needing a video on a full hinge swap, specifically on the upper driver side. For those who cant find a video on it!! I dont have one. But I have a simple explanation. I recommend removing the fender if its first time doing a door hinge. I slightly dropped my door while open and bottom hinge was on, and fucked my fender up. The door wouldnt close properly afterwards.. LOL You live you learn. But the only thing you will need to remove is pretty much nothing. Its a SUPER tight fit. but its wires mainly. 13mm deep socket on 3 in extension and ratchet. manual or electric, is all youll need. (itll help to remove the dash front panel and headlight knob for some visibility. Fairly easy. Careful with the clips. They are old and cheaply attached. But not required if youre good at feeling for things) Reach your hand up under the dash. Flush with the hand brake. Some rough spots reaching up there. But nothing sharp that I got hit by. Zip ties arent always in the same spots tho. So be careful of those. Get even with the bolt for the hinge. Push with your fingers, hard. Youll feel rubberish/flexible plastic material. Itll have a X cut. I highly recommend PULLING THAT BITCH OUT OF THE WAY!! IT JACKED MY 13MM. ITS STUCK INSIDE THE CAB SUBFRAME!!! *massive facepalm* Anyways. Attach 13mm and extenstion to bolt. The feed a ratchet up there. Again. WIll be tight. But doable. Might have to angle the ratchet onto the extension. But it works without messing other stuff up. The last 3 bolts are a cakewalk! HOWEVER! You will need to prop the door up somehow and open it for half a second to remove and install the new hinge assembly.. Set new hinge in place. Close door. CAREFULLY And retighten in reverse order!! Bada bing bada boom. Youre done!! Took me all of 2 hours with ZERO prior knowledge. But I also over deconstruct, for several reasons. Hope this helps!!

None of the videos I have watched so far tell if the service manual instructs you to warm up the car to operating temperature before running through the gears and removing the check valve. My Toyota and my daughter’s Hyundai both require it be done between a certain temperature range. Can’t be under or over a certain temperature.

If you do or you don’t it won’t affect much. It will just change the amount of fluid in the pan that you drain. That’s why it’s important to utilize the check bolt for fluid level and not just guess or fill from the bottom. 👍🏼

Thanks for the video. I used a small chisel to get the old ones out. When I had it separted it a little, I needed something a little thicker. I took a small hex key wrench and tapped in into the sides. This caused the old one to pop out. To get the new ones in, I tried tapping the first one in with the 21mm socket as suggested. It tore the boot. For the other three, I used my vice and pressed them in using a small piece of wood as a spacer to avoid direct contact with the rubber part against the metal vice. . It worked perfect and did not damage the rubber boot.

Hi anyone, after changing filter, I have all kinds of codes. Engine light on. Obd reader says engine coolant temperature sensor (po 118) and intake air temperature sensor, mass or volume air flow A circuit low. I'm sure it's cause of what I dud. I shoulda took off battery. Should I run-it maybe it will clear itself. Or take to shop. I cleared codes then turned on for a bit and light came back on. I didn't drive far enough. I'm on liver transplant list only car. Tried to save a Lil $ I might of bumped something loose. Temp reading was working backward but now ok. Anyone help please
@HandsOnDismantler
@HandsOnDismantler 3 ай бұрын
Go back and check the sensor connections in the area you were working. Sounds to me like you attempted to start the car before plugging everything back in. This will cause these codes to appear. Double check your connections make sure nothings damaged. Clear the codes once the work is complete, then drive the vehicle after and see if they re appear. If they do, then you may have damaged a wire somewhere in that area when working on the filter. Replacing the filter will not cause a check engine light even if you did it wrong. 👍🏼

Edit: I got the filter cover on!!!! All the videos I’ve seen have made it look easy. They are all 2 minute videos. I don’t have a Nissan, but my boyfriend does. And he is the most anti-car-maintenance person I know. He has ignored the filter for 6 years, and laughs when I tell him he needs to do certain things to maintain his car. But his car reeks! He refuses to take the car to a dealer and his mechanic said he couldn’t do it because he didn’t have the right tools. That is such a load of crap. He shouldn’t be a mechanic! So I managed to get the filter out, but not without shredding it. The new one went in fairly smoothly. I was expecting more resistance. I just kept “see-saw’ing” it (if you can call it that) into the compartment. I’m hoping I put it in right. Although I’m not sure how it can be sitting wrong in there if it is flush with the opening. I can’t for the life of me get that damn cover back on though! I finally gave up. I will try again tomorrow. I hate Nissans. Thank you for your video. It’s the only one that showed the cover plate not going back on. I thought it was me.
