Something i like about this, it dosnt depict papyrus as some sort of omniciant demi god when he absorbs the dt and the souls. It depicts him as a amalgamation, a constantly shifting and contorting husk of what he used to be with powers he cant even nearlg comprehend. It really makes me wounder, what caused him to be like that? Was it not having exactly what you want in mind when you absorb the souls? Was it the nature of his own soul? Being magic, and not mixing with the others? It makes me feel like, to use the souls you need your own personal determination, the want to do what ever you need the souls for. For flowey, its to have fun, to make frisk/the player suffer, to cause chaos. And also having a body to handle it. The souls gave him what he want, but thanks to frisk, and what flowey did to them before (NOT OFFICIAL TO MY KNOWLADGE, JUST A PERSONAL OPINION) they revolted against him. But for papyrus, the souls would (most likely) love him, they would want to help him, protect him, make sure he isnt hurt, so they gave him every chance they could. Attacking you for him before frisk kills them, and leaving there left over energy in papyrus, hoping he would understand what to do. But he couldnt, he dosnt know what he truly wants, his only thoughts are his friends, wanting them back, wanting the player to suffer wanting to end it all, wanting flowey, wanting his mind back, just wanting everything to be normal again. The way theh dipict him makes me think, to use the souls properly, with out losing your self, you need 3 things: Emotional stability. Your quest/task/desire anchored in your mind as your only thought A body to handle the energy. Papyrus had none of these things, and in turn, suffered untill his "last breath" where he finally figured out one of the 3 things he needed. His true want. He wants frisk gone. He wants frisk to be punished for what they did to his friends, to his family. So his body morphs in to the beat from to complete that task. And in a way he gets what he wants, the player retreats. Leaving that... THING. Alone. Truly, the true embodiment of the saying "i won, but at what cost?"
