Been feeding raw for 9 years. My current dog is a 21 month old female yellow lab. I buy frozen items like pork necks, chicken quarters, chicken backs, turkey wings, turkey necks, ground chicken, ground turkey, ground pork and ground beef in bulk, semi thaw enough to portion into individual plastic bags and refreeze. My lab "hunts down and finds" 1 frozen sardine and 2 frozen chicken feet every single afternoon. She'll have a raw meaty bone also. Her dinner is a good mix of protein, bone and organ meats.

I have wanted to give my dog high quality foods. However my dog is very very picky and has lived off of scraps. Would trying a raw diet be ok to try even though he’s been on a scrap diet his whole life? I’ve tried canned food and dry food but he won’t eat it.

I looked at the prices of your food and realised that a lot of those meats cost less where I live! I might actually be able to change my dogs' diets without breaking the bank, I always thought it would be really expensive.

The dogs poop is one of the easiest ways to convince people the benefits of a raw diet. When they see the difference between the poop of a kibble, fed dog and the poop of a RawFed dog, they really start understanding the differences.

The food you make for one meal would feed my dog for 5 days, she only weighs I think it’s 6 pounds (3 kilos). But my dog suffers from HGE and wouldn’t be able to process so many protein varieties in one meal. She was on boiled chicken and white rice for over a year as the HGE nearly killed her twice. She is a little more adventurous now but not THAT adventurous. My previous dogs would have loved this diet though.

maybe you could do a recipe with just chicken if you wanted to try something like this (minus some secreting organs like kidneys or pancreas of course but everything else can be sourced from that one protein)

1)They're not babies, they're dogs. 2)Being the animals they are, they can perfectly digest raw meat as their stomach acids are pretty tough and can also kill most of the bacteria. 3)All it takes for raw meat to be safe for dog's consumption is to freeze it for a couple of days to make sure it has no parasites.

I've been doing this for more than 12 years, feeding five dogs. You'll find it much easier if you assemble at least one week or one month's worth of assembled food for total weight over that period, then randomly assemble each daily meal, then package, freeze and thaw for each daily meal.

My standard poodle is having issues adjusting to raw food. Her teeth have a hard time crunching the bones. She won’t eat hearts, gizzards, feet, raw chicken wings. Her eyes have been watery, which makes me believe she is having a hard time digesting the raw food. I have had to start semi cooking the food. Talk about gas!!! She has it bad. She can clear the room!!! I just started her back to a little kibble and put a can of cooked chicken mixed in and poured some warm bone broth over it all. She left the kibble behind. So I let my lab finish it. He eats anything. I’m thinking My poodle really prefers cooked food. But I can’t give her cooked wings. She loves the raw bone’s with the marrow inside. Does anyone else have any experience with their dog not liking a total raw diet? Any tips would be helpful, because my husband wants me to quit taw completely.

One of my 3 dogs has a very sensitive stomach and if I give him raw he gets diarrhea, so I bought a meat grinder and I grind everything: muscle meat, chicken necks (for the bone part), liver, other secreting organs I can source, chicken hearts, a few veggies and then I gently cook everything in the crockpot. My dog stools are firm, not stinky and my oldest dog with bad teeth has no problem eating it as well. Maybe you could try something like this as well if you dont want to feed him kibble anymore

@@yungface012 Dogs are carnivores, and benefit from getting nutrients from animals exclusively. Balancing it with a tiny bit of spinach, pumpkin seeds, etc is okay, but if you can get your dog the same nutrients these provide from animals based foods your dog will more easly absorb these nutrients. Dogs being omnivores is a myth, their digestive system is not as well adapted to digesting plant matter as much as meat

Developed this diet? We did some research and came up with these food items based off what we could find in grocery stores near me. We do not know for sure if it’s nutritionally sound, but based off of research it should be close. I did tell their vet about the diet and she supported it. No blood work done though. Dogs seem happy and healthier since being on the diet.
